A few people did, website was misleading which I went on.

But on the bright side first time at MCC. My thoughts: confusing poker setup (20-500, 30-1000, etc. ) why not just call them 1/2, 2/5? Why are games 10-handed, I really am not a fan, impossible to deny odds, and everyone becomes limp/stations PF, also there's like no space. I don't like everyone being able to see my business at the poker "cage".

Other than that healthy 28BB/h winrate last night so I got to leave earlier than expected, lots of fishy/bad players so no shortage of action. Looking forward to becoming a reg, except for the no comp part.

Lol healthy win rate bro. This statement leads me to believe that you are a part of that fish pool. Happy fishing

Can't tell if you're calling me a fish, or not. Either way I just gotta make sure I eat the smaller fish and don't get eaten.

Probably need alot more than 50 hrs. I had a win rate better than this the first 50 hrs of 2.5 at MCC. I think you really need like 500 hrs at least

Well what did he have the second hr?

I don't expect it to hold over the long run. I'll probably average out back to my standard 12 BB/hr (which was over 600+ hours).

Just happy I had 1. A positive first experience at MCC and 2. A positive return to live poker.

It's a Detroit thing ... no one can explain to me why it has to be different from every other place in the country.

10 handed is pretty common in other places no? If you really want a slightly shorter game, Toledo runs 9 handed, and so do a number of the charity rooms.

Motor City has always felt cramped to me (everywhere in the casino), and it's one of the reasons I don't play there as often as a lot of other posters. MGM has bigger tables so there's more room playing 10 handed, and they comp you $1/hr. There's less traffic, and fewer $2/5 or above games though.

My recommendation is to try all of the rooms in town a couple of times and see what you like.

How is the 1/2 action? The number of tables and traffic was my main reason for MCC. That and convenience right off the Lodge makes it a straight shot in and out.

^^^^ wrong thread big guy. I'm pretty sure its safe to say live and online are diff. Key word is at least. If you have a nice win rate w/ at least 500 hrs you van assume that you're not losing. Who the hell is gonna play 250k hands live? Its way diff. And that's why win rate are inflatedtheres a huge difference and if you don't think so then idk. You must have everything figured out

I can't speak for much during the week, but Fri/Sat there are usually 4-6 tables of $1/2 + one $2/5, then at prime time around 7-8 or so they usually fill up and have a game going at all 9 tables until around 2am. There's sometimes a $10-25 PLO game running in the back on the weekends.

The $1/2 game has a higher max buy in ($300), so *sometimes* you get a deeper game overall. But there are still shortstacks just like you get in any $1/2 game though. Play is just as bad as you'd expect. There are a lot of regs, most of which tend to be on the nitty side, with a few spewtards.

There is less random foot traffic since you have to take an elevator off the casino floor to get to the room, but there is a nightclub right next door. It gets loud when the club is busy. Some of the drunks from the club that think they're ballers will sit and play (poorly), so it's not all bad.

For $1/2 on a weekend I don't see any advantage to playing at MCC over MGM. Playing higher, or on a Tuesday afternoon might be a different story.

heading up to Mt. Pleasant in a bit... tournament supposedly has less entrants right now than it usually has on a Friday afternoon, so I'm not sweating getting a seat...

planning on playing some Omaha or Omaha8 if it's running...

What about Thursdays? My grinding days are strictly Thurs-Sat.

Night club next door is meh, I wear headphones to drown everything out. But I don't like the tons of nitty regs, I like em on the looser side.

Sorry for all the questions as well lol.

Regardless a trip to MGM is a must, I'll do that next weekend.

Couldn't tell you on a Thursday. I drive 35mins from Ann Arbor, so I don't make it down during the week. I'd love to here how it is on Thursday though, I need to get more table time in next year.

There are enough spewy randoms ans spewy regs to exploit too. You'll just have to identify who's who and hammer them accordingly. Table changes are very important.
