between that and $1/hour plus $10 for 10 hours promos for MGM.
Not sure, but any promotion would have to pass Gaming rules so they must be documented somewhere. Would be interested too if someone knows the answers.

As someone who hasn't played as much the last two years, I'm curious what you guys think is the one thing that has changed the most about the meta game in Detroit. Do regs not pay you off as often when you have it? Are people floating the flop more often? Do you see less c-betting with air?

In the few times I've played recently I've seen these as possible differences, but I also see some of the same errors players have always made, especially around stack management and bet sizing. Just curious what you guys think.

All the big action is PLO now. I haven't played a lot of NLHE downtown in the past year either, but every time I've gone it's basically been the same as it always was. Lots of the same errors and players making them. More action at MGM than before, more chasing small promos rather than big BBJs.

So the PLO scene is sustainable? Have regs adjusted to the variance in the game? Seemed like a game much more prone to bustouts and favoring those with real bankrolls. Haven't played in them lately, but all the small stake games I've been in end up in short handed play because of people just deciding to roll the dice preflop 60/40 and 4-5 people ending up with the chips not because of skill but because of the cards just fell the right way for them.

PLO is only sustainable because there are a lot of guys with a lot of money pumping the juice into it. The local games that I play in have a rotating cast of players where we won't see some of them for a month after they go busto. But the big money players keep dropping cash into the game.

There are smaller players that can survive in those games if they're smart though.

1. The governor signed it?

2. Any idea how long implementation will take?

3. Any idea if we will join a compact (if that's the right word) of other states so that we have a decent player pool?

These are exciting times for those of us on the lakeshore. I went to a presentation about getting a casino with a poker room in Muskegon County in 2020. That would change my distance to the nearest casino with a poker room from 70 miles to 17. It would be great for those of us near Lake Michigan to have more options both live and online.

It will be at least a couple years. From what I recall, the application process alone for online casinos takes a year.

Eh. After the election all of them should just go home. No lame duck bills, no lame duck vetos. Just GTFO. They don't need to be in session all year anyway.

Just checked out Greektown and noticed they now have senior tourney Wednesdays 2pm $70. Looks like 8000 stack. Hope it goes well. I plan attending often.

So Motor City got rid of the quads over quads in favor of a fixed $30,000 BBJ of Aces full of Kings beaten. I couldn't ever care less about BBJs, but I guess a lot of people must or casinos wouldn't change them so often. That seems stupid to have such a tiny bad beat even if it's easier to hit. And What happens to the rest of the jackpot money?

Yes, I’ve always said I would be fine just getting rid of the promo drop all together. But when you are at a table and that’s the only thing people talk about is the high hands and BBJ, you realize why they have it.

Basically all of the BBJ jackpot from motor city is going into the high hand promotions that are basically running every day now. Some days more so than others like today where they give away $500 every 30 minutes for 6 hours. I personally like this a little better than the bigger and nearly impossible BBJ, but who knows.

All the poker casinos in MI are trying to find the best promo attraction to maintain/generate traffic. FKeepers now has a $2 promo drop and is expanding their Full House promo into other promos while increasing their BBJ requirement to Quads beaten in order to grow the jackpot. With the decreased traffic due to GLake opening up they needed to do something to loosen up the room.

I guess I don't mind the fixed BBJ concept on first thought as it eliminate the one thing that really stinks about the BBJ ... the drastic drop in the pot when it hits. I'm not traveling as much so I haven't been to MCC ... but HH are the rage in Florida, so I assume they are just following the trend to keep folks from going to MGM as much.

Promo fund discussions are 'hot' on this site right now. GL

Well I went today to play the seniors event and I cant described how disappointed I was that there was only three players ten minutes before event was to start. Seniors better not ***** about lack of senior games. Detroit has a huge drawing base and 3 people only. LMFAO.
I mentioned they need to promote the event because their email newletters mention nothing of the seniors weekly tourney

What a waste of two hours of driving

In some ways I see this as a 'senior' moment? Hopefully you play cash as well. Most 'daily' tournaments are senior driven anyway

Depending on which way you drove, most of FKeeper dailies are 3-4 table events. That was pre-GLake though, not sure what they draw now but you can check Bravo for that information during the tournament by looking at the clock information. (Probably for GTown as well) GL

I mostly play MT`s weekends and theres always a good mix of players. I rarely play weekdays but thought this week I`d go for it since I had day free.
Yes play cash as well but didn't exchange enough CDN funds to sit in with a reasonable stack

I've played PLO with Jason at Motor. Talked a lot of sports with him at the table. He plays huge on FanDuel. Not sure how he knows Jeff Gross, but likely has some sort of UofM connection.
