Not at all, I don't play cash.

FK $500 was a bit down .. no waiting to sit at any point with cash back up and running during Level 2. FT still ran pretty late with what looked like a 4-way chop according to Bravo.

I may have posted the wrong MSPT dates previously ... It's NEXT week!! So you only have 11 days to play a Satty or grind your $1100 entry fee. Three Day 1s with Day 2 on Sunday October 14th until a winner is crowned!

I'm told that FK Dealers can now sell chips again. I didn't stick around to find out.

Gun Lake Casino poker in Wayland, MI is still hoppin' going into their 5th week. Daily 1/2 or 2/5 PLO with lots of 1/2 NL as well. 2/5 NL AND a 'huge' uncapped 5/10 PLO starting at 6PM on Fridays!! The 5/10 has a feeder table early in the night. There has been almost 20 call-ins every week for this game. The issue for travelers is no hotel very close as of yet. The casino will build one eventually and I'm told there is one going up just one exit to the north. Otherwise you are looking at Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids to find a bed. The 1/2 PLO has been a fish fest as everyone is excited about the game and taking the chance to 'learn' it live!! GL

PS ... Yes, I always consider myself a fish!!

and if they build a hotel and then charge poker players like $139 a night instead of like $49 a night it would still be necessary to go 20 miles down the road for a nights sleep.

Yes, unfortunately poker players don't really sit too high on the radar for comped rooms or slashed rates ... at least on weekends. SEagle gives so many rooms away that the rest of the flock is expected to pay $300, yikes!!

I've never really chatted with anyone about how to swing 'the system' in your favor by spot betting in the pits, but I know guys who have rooms at Fkeepers on a regular basis that certainly aren't gaining attention by how they play poker. GL

soaring eagle gives free rooms out to poker players just like ocean in atlantic city, which lets u have 3 free nites a week just from poker?

Nowadays it's hard to game the system because the computers figure it all out based on your average bet. They give you a percentage of your expected loss in dollars. You'd be better off just paying for the room. Back in the day of unlimited RFB, things were much more fun.

Hey guys, I have a seat to the MSPT’s Friday flight if anyone is interested. Asking $1,050 for it.

Posted some thoughts on MSPT in the WMich thread. Interesting weekend coming up with the WSOPc Event #1 ($400, $777K min) in Hammond and MSPT at FK ($1100, $1M maybe?) ... and Gun Lake is still booming with cash play that exceeds many expectations.

Found a very old (2011) Greektown Players Card today ... Called down to see if the account was still active, it was!! They were very cautious to discuss any re-branding to The Jack with me. Plus with the rumors that Dan Gilbert wants to 'now' sell the casinos he just bought so he can buy the Tigers may make it even less likely to get any upgrade before the dust settles. GL

I’ll be playing the MSPT this Friday. I won a seat in the Saturday night $260 qualifier. I didn’t realize that all satellite players either need to play on Thursday-Friday or I wouldn’t have played and just bought in on Saturday. But, I guess it makes sense and one can logically assume Thursday and Friday will be softer than Saturday as it all satellite players and less direct buy in’s.

Bad assumption IMO ... Although I think Thursday is the softest of the three Day 1s there are still plenty of high quality Players who might be willing to fire six bullets at a $1M prize pool. Friday might be the toughest Day 1 since a lot of out-of-towners come in and want to qualify on Friday so they can play cash deep into the night on Friday and Saturday at their leisure, rather than try to grind 2-3 days in a row. Typically the Day 2 starting chip leader comes from Saturday, but it could be a Friday Player as well.

Also, as seen above, you can sell your ticket and pay with that cash on Saturday if it works better for your schedule. You probably could've sold your ticket the moment you won it ... plenty of vultures hanging around in that room. GL

Guess I didn’t think about selling my ticket after playing until midnight and dealing with stalling for past 1.5 hours of the tournament. It is what it is now.

Looks like FKeepers may set another record. 299 was a Thursday, Day 1A, record. They were very prepared and didn't even shut cash down at the start.

You are now facing 16 Levels on Day 1s now. The breaks are down to 10 minutes every 3 Levels (2 hours) but they added a dinner break (40 Min) at the end of Level 9, so 6 hours into your day. Day 1s are 12 hours ... so Noon to Midnight if you make it all the way.

No good for me ... I get a guy to put in 120bb 'knowing he was behind' and his Q hits the Turn and my 4-flush River pairs to Board!! GL

Damn. I always hated tournaments. 12 hours with little break. That's nuts.

That's one of the reasons that I prefer tournaments that are long and deepstacked, whether it's 4 hours of early registration online or going past midnight live. When I'm sitting at a live table and players complain that they are tired or have to get up in the morning (the most obvious tell ever) I know that I have an edge because I'm prepared to play that long. I've even had some luck heads-up online betting small or minraising, which makes the HU go a little longer and grinds villain down until he starts making dumb mistakes.

If you didn't like the 12 hour Day 1 ... how about the 16 hour Day 2? There was a lot of pushing chips around the final 6 Players and even more so the final 4 ... 3 AM finish!! GL

PS ... One guy in the final 4 was going to have surgery this morning at 930!!

Interesting that if they don’t hit the 15K guarantee they take it out of the bad beat jackpot money.

There must be a huge backdoor in the BBJ promotion language in Ohio ... or a 'brilliant' wording of the tournament that pulls it into the promotional ranks.

My limited understanding is that the casino typically has 'excess' promotional funds beyond the BBJ jackpot/reserve that can be used for other approved events. But if you are suggesting that the published BBJ jackpot could actually be reduced to cover a shortfall is some convenient accounting in my mind. What if there was a shortfall AND the BBJ hit during the tournament?

What a great 'promotional' tool that puts the casino in a no risk situation for such an event!! GL

Wayne Bowl supposedly has 4 charity days next week. Let’s see if they can pull it off this time.

Really dislike when that happens. Better luck next time, Bout.
