Looks like it hit: https://www.motorcitycasino.com/Poke...x?Page=BadBeat
Texas Hold'em (Aces full of Kings) $35,101.56
Texas Hold'em (Quads over Quads) $495,624.70
Omaha $17,809.15
Any Suit $392.59

Anyone confirm MotorCity is doing an hourly high hand promo now?

Well cancel my trip over there ... $500K just isn't enough incentive. GL

Don't these guys look happy that their pictures are plastered all over the BBJ announcement:

I hope they cut a deal to get their photo on social media.

What stakes was the bad bear hit at? 1-2?

I'd imagine 2/5 since it was RxR

Please excuse my ignorance but I see games at Motor City on Bravo with this RxR thing and I get that it means round by round, but what exactly is that and how does it work?

Thanks in advance

They spread 1 orbit 2-5 No Limit and the next orbit 2-5 PLO. I played in the R& R table at MCC less than 48 hours before the Bad Beat Jackpot got hit. I had a hunch it was going to get hit, my hunch was 48 hours too early

How much do you figure you make each year on this hunch? Can it be taught or is it hereditary? Sounds genius.

The dealer (Adib...spellcheck) only got 12k total. It was RXR but a few dealers said it was 5/10 not 2/5 so clearly it happened to guys who totally needed it Detroit
But ****ty tippers piss me off especially for a good dealer like him.

The tipping containment thread is elsewhere with full discussion of BBJ 'etiquette' which ranges anywhere from ...
1) BBJ pots are 100% players money that's just being safely held until it's returned to the players via promos.
2) Tipping anywhere from 3-5% 'post tax'. If you go by this then it was 1.5% of 735,000 (70%) collectively from the table.
3) What did Tom Dwan tip that Dealer in Europe when he shipped that $1M pot off of PIvey in times gone by?

All of the Dealers worked hard during this run of 14 months or so. I would most definitely spread around my tips to all of them somehow ... as I will when I ship a decent tournament score.

That fact that it was shorthanded probably affected the tips for sure.

What would you tip the cashier at the gas station who sold you the $100/$500K scratch off? I've always thought I would give them $10K if I win a Lotto jackpot. Some people have a similar relationship with their 'coffee' cashier as we might have with a Dealer.

Bravo showed two 2-5 RxR games going at 1130PM but that doesn't mean they didn't change the stakes at the table or even dropped the table off Bravo when it hit.

Looks as though the number of tables were down 2-3 last night when I looked at Bravo at Midnight, but the wait list was very large at 700PM. GL

I'm in Canton. I'm aware that Vision Lanes and also some Irish pub, both in Westland, are doing the charity room thing, but I haven't played at either. Does anyone have any "reviews" on getting a NLHE game in the area? When I don't feel like going downtown to MCC. Thanks a lot.

Malarkeys.

They're both reasonable charity games. There should be a few others around closer than going downtown to a casino.

You also don't *have* to go to MCC. The $1/2 games are *better* at the other rooms anyway.

Mmm yeah it has been a while and after reading the last couple pages, it looks like MGM or GT is the way to go. Thanks.

I'll try Malarkeys first.

I assume that is Doc's Sports Retreat?

Go to the Millionaire Party Locator and enter your city or county.

From where you are located don't forget the Ann Arbor rooms .. I've heard some crazy stories about the play over there. GL

Malarkeys is different from Docs.

The AA games aren't as crazy as they used to be. The staffing has changed and the games are deader more often. Part of it is a rather healthy home game circuit with a LOT of PLO running. Regularly 4+ nights a week at various locations.

I think Vision Lanes has the most tables of any charity room in SE Michigan. You could also try Momo’s which is a quick drive down I-94 to Telegraph. ( R.I.P. Electric Stick ).

Cool, thanks for posting. I think Vision is closest to me of all of them mentioned here so that works out nicely

OK .. Very nice of FKeepers to get back to me via Twitter ... (@answer20more)

1) 5th Sunday tournaments this year will now be $500 .. The first one is April 29th. Looks like they still start at 1000 AM, register early!!

2) Feb 18th (Sunday) they will have a $350 ($100 is Bounty) tournament instead of the $120 at 1100 AM. 20K in chips, probably 30 or 40 minute levels (Presidents Day thing since they think folks may have Monday off)

3) Feb 19th (Monday) they will somehow be giving away $100 every 30 minutes starting at 1100 AM in the poker room.

4) Their BBJ is getting close to room share, $75K, which always adds to the excitement in that room. GL

Any word on the structure of the $500? I remember they changed the blind structure in the July and it became quite poor in my opionikn. There was y’all of changing that back. Not sure if they did or not? Be interested to know about this one
