Coming to town this weekend for Supercross at Ford Field. Last year played at Greentown and the dealing was pretty terrible. Any improvement since then or should I just head over to MGM?

I'd head to MGM, they opened up a new room. Some of the dealers are bad, but never played s greektoen enough to compare.

All the rooms have some bad dealers imo. MGM seems to be trending up in game selection and amount of action. Nice new room. MCC still has lots of action but also still an ashtray.

I hear Toledo has a very nice $690 tournament. If you bag both Day 1s you get $3000 bonus. Late start at 5:15 PM Friday and Saturday. Also has a $100 Senior tournament on Sunday.

Firekeepers is starting their 'countdown' to MSPT. Every Friday and Saturday at Noon and Friday night at 630 they will hold the $65 Super Satty. Top 20% win $250 towards ME or ME Satty.

Saturday nights at 630 they will have the $260 ME Satty. 20% win ME entry for Thursday May 18th or Friday May 19th. Must pick 'day' upon winning. These are easy to sell (sign over) for a nice 4x profit. No more Saturday bounty tournament until MSPT is complete.

Firekeepers will have their $240 this Sunday.

I don't normally look at Poker Atlas, not sure what the charity rooms are doing in that area. GL

I've never really felt the smoke 'in' the poker room, but upon entry and exit it hits you hard ... more so if you play in the 2nd room.

Everyone is at least checking out MGM, so at least consider it.

MCC has increase BI for 2/5 to $800 and is now 9-handed, not 10.

MCC has also made changes to PLO tables, not sure what.

MCC will turn over their wait list much quicker, check with both at least an hour before you want to play.

Haven't been to GT in years, but you can find a few amazing games there .. you just rolling the dice you will be there when one breaks out. GL

Dealers at GT are consistently the worst in town IMO. Game can be good before/after a sporting event.

MGM has some bad ones, as does MCC. MGM's seem to just be slow, MCC's tend to **** up side pots more often.

I notice the smoke in MCC, as well as walking through the casino. MGM's is also smokey if you're close to the entrance.

Regardless of where you go, call ahead by about 30-45 mins if you can. The direct lines are in the first post of the thread.

Thanks for the responses. If time allows I'll check out MCC. If not I'll be stuck at GT.

For what it's worth, Mgm is just as close to Ford Field as Greektown, there's just a lot less to do between Mgm and Ford Field if you're looking for dinner or drinks or anything besides gambling. No reason to be "stuck" at Greektown.

Regardless of where you end up, it's always nice to know what an out of towner thinks of the local rooms.

I was a local up to about 92. My last staff job was at GM Photographic and I lived in Southfield.

I got a business trip coming up to Indianapolis, and plan on hitting Indiana Grand Casino. I've been told everything's electronic there, including dealer-less poker tables -- sort of like online poker, only live where the table is a giant screen, slower, and way softer competition. I think all they have is 1/2 NLHE. This is the first I've heard of such a thing, and would like to hear from local Detroit players who've experienced this.

How do you look at your hands secretly? Are people able to protect their hands well?

It is awkward or easy to figure out how to do everything?

Can you buy in anonymously like most other live places, or do you need a player card that personally identifies you?

Is the competition softer than say a $1/$2 game at MGM or MCC? Or is it full of online players playing live?

How do they take rake, and how much?

What are physical tells like -- are they any different? What else is different?

I played on an electronic table while on a cruise ship. Didn't like how it played; but loved the action every night.

They had us buy in using our players card, you loaded the money onto the card at the cage. Since there is no dealer I would suspect the casino would operate it similar.

There is a small screen in front of you where the cards will appear, if you slide on the screen it will lift up the cards. Protect it just like you would a physical hand. Hard to see people's hands unless you really rubber neck it, due to the pixelation and the angles.

You cup your hands on your screen like regular cards and that's when they're shown to you. The missing chips is my biggest beef with the electronic format.

Electronic tables do take some getting used to. I was never worried about other players seeing my cards, but if you don't protect them it's possible to see from many angles ... even across the table. I used my 'players card' to tap and shield the game from my cards. It's interesting how you can 'show' one or both cards if you win a pot without a showdown.

No chips, but you do know your opponents exact chip stack at all times.

I've heard that they stop the game after any pot over $200 so the winner can sign a winnings form ... Have no confirmation this is still a practice.

Search this sight for the Indianapolis Thread ... THERE IS 2/5 charity cash action along the north portion of 465. Unlimited chips from what I understand. I didn't get to play in any of the games when I was there for New Years since they were closed.

Hope you run good and give us a report of whatever you decide to do. GL
