Haven't been to MGM in a thousand years. 1/3 is new to me!

What are the buy-in range for the games at MGM?

Going to be in the Troy/Auburn Hills area for the weekend. What's the best spot for cash games in the afternoon/early evening while the wife shops?
Thanks
Jeff

Snookers in Utica has a game that'll start at 10am. Usually second table by 11.

Wow, they got 210 runners? That's pretty good. I will have to check that out on a Friday some time. Better luck next time, LT.

On that side of town I think the closest rooms are Shark Club in Waterford and Big Beaver Tavern in Troy.

I was unaware! Sounds like I may start working MGM into my schedule! I have been playing the 1/2 MCC, but the free mini sammichs and hotdogs aren't worth it. lol

I'll be at MGM tonight. Somewhere between 7-9 until I own the room! lol

Doc's has a $100 buy in tourney tomo. The website gives minimal info. Does anybody know anything about this?

I think it's safe to assume a fairly small field and crappy structure. Am I wrong?

Thanks in advance and gl to all today!

You can contact the Doc's Poker Room for the structure 248-755-5344. I'm not that familar with the different blind structure's, so I'm not sure how it compares to others around down. Last week they had 48 entries.

I'm skeptical of any tourney that starts at 7pm and must finish before 2.

You told us nothing about the structure. What to the blinds start at, and at what increments do they increase? 500k starting chips! Blinds start at 5k/10k!

Sharks Club is closed "temporarily" they say. I heard it was indefinitely but that's what they said when I called them today.

I'll jump in at Cadas later tonight in the O8 game. Not sure what the starting stack is in the 250 dollar. Usually it ends around 10 at night, so 9 hours of play with only 60 people.

Stucture for the $250 tournament

Antes will start at 500/1000/100
Best Structure in Michigan!!!

We will sell 60 seats, if seats are available you can get into tournament up though first break, which will be about 3:00. You will be blinded out, but you can get a lete entry.

I also didn't realize that MGM had 1/3.

I've never really understood a room running 1/2 and 1/3 at the same time. It isn't as if MGM was so big an busy that they can justify that sort of granularity. Didn't MCC experiment with 1/3 or 2/3 blinds a few years ago and abandoned it after a couple of months?

apparently they had 2 1/3 tbls going all night, and at about 2am, after playing 4 handed for bit(weeeeeee) my tbl broke and they moved us over to the open spots at the other 1/3.......I honestly would have done far better just playing 1/2 nor 2/5....maybe I just sat in a bad game but it was far from special, and I ran bad, real bad. Felt like I played well, but still left around 2:30 stuck, live to see another day

Taylor last night, 62 or so runners. we chopped w/ 5 left, $200 each, playing for the another $800. down to 4.. i'm in the sb w/ A8. flop is K102 rainbow. 3 of us in (button had limped, which really confused me). check check check. turn is an ace. i check, bb checks, button goes all in. (I have about 9 bbs, he has about 12) don't know a lot about him other that he plays at taylor lanes, so he could be so terrible that he might limp on the button 4 handed with huge blinds with A10(check flop in position!?)/A2 (i'm beat) or he could be so terrible that he might limp with A3,A4,A5,A6,A7 (i'm ahead). i called, he had A10. gg.

Last I waked into MGM was back in 06, I thought it was 1-2 300 max. Not sure whats the point of running 1-2 and 1-3, hell up the buyin for 1-2 to 400. MGM had the best chair I ever sat on in michigan. That there ends the glowing review of MGM. Whats the best night to walk in there? Might give it a third chance since its been about 6 years or so.

Haha thanks man... I dont blame you, we chased away most if not all of our better 1/2 players when we started pushing .25/.50 and .50/$1 games more... But what are you gonna do, I dont make the decisions around here lol

I like that idea. I heard Harrahs in NOLA has a 1/2 (or 1/3) game that you can buy in for whatever the biggest stack at the table has. That would be fun...

Bout to hit up motor...I'll update with my seat # & table when I get there.
