Not every dealer is aware yet but, DD is first local card room to allow the dealer to reduce rake in short handed games of 6 or less. No need to beg/ask the floor. I suggested a plaque but, doubt that will happen anytime soon. If your dealer is unaware, call the floor.
6 handed $3
5 handed $2
4 handed $1
Promo drop remains the same

The San Jose room that I used to play in had plaques on the the rake thing. Saves a lot of complaining and bugging of floor.

Yup, it’s such an easy fix. I’m told that the reason for no plaques is many times a table is unaware how onerous the rake is short handed and they want full rake until someone wises up and asks. (Predatory).

Greedy bastids! But then, in California, if you have a cardroom it's a license to print money. They probably figure, the smoother the operation, the better.

They should auto-reduce it based on the # of players. Why even introduce the extra step of the players having to ask for it? I know it's because they don't want it reduced. So if they don't want it reduced, why bother to have the policy of lowering it when there's less players?

But I guess it's better than how it normally works, which is someone asks for the rake to be reduced, the floor is called and it takes forever for them to show up and by the time they show up, either more players have come, which makes the rake reduction moot, or they do reduce the rake and then the table breaks 5 minutes later because players hate playing short handed.

2 games running at 9am, per Bravo, both 4/8. Lists started for the other usual games. The only games on my Bravo list, including SoCal and LV.

Edit: Golden West in Bakersfield has one game.

Extremely bad luck guys. Just a month then bam!! Might not be much disposable income in the state when it’s time to reopen. Maybe use this time to get those beverage stations working. The fried chicken is on point. Don’t mess with that.

Talking Stick Resort has allowed the dealers to reduce the rake for at LEAST 4 months if not more.

Can you share the reduced rake structure? My last two plays I quit the game because the dealer had to check with the floor. It has been more than 4 months

If a player asks for a rake reduction the dealer should reduce it without calling a floor)
Structure is:
7-9 handed -$4 (this is full rake)
6 handed -$2
5 and below -$1

The $2 jackpot drop ($1 from small blind/$1 at $30) never varies on Day or Swing shift n graveyard, occasionally they reduce it to a single $1 drop (that is a floor call)

(Why has this thread seen no posts for nearly two years??)
So I heard that Desert Diamond took down the plexiglas in the poker room so I decided to check them out again.
Was shocked to find though they still have a mask requirement.
Back to Talking Stick I go.

His name is Andrew Walsh. And plays under the moniker "Fez". Apparently, he's a regular and well known at Desert Diamond.
