There were 100 entries in Day 1D yesterday, with 20 advancing. This makes the totals now:

405 entries, 82 advanced, $78,975 prize pool.

Hopefully turnout will be stronger today, being Saturday, but it now seems my guess of 600 total is a bit high. I imagine scheduling Day 2 for Easter Sunday put some damper on the number of runners.

Any know the amount for today so far??

155 was the number. Busted 60th. 2 hands of note.

Been steadily increasing my stack and caught a bluff to go to over 60k. Right after break pickup AA from bb and raise 6k on top (blinds 500/1k) ). One caller of the 6k more and flop come Q97hh. I cbet 14k, he shoves 9k more and I snap. Turns over KJhh and while I fade the turn, not the river.

Right around 30k, same blinds I'm on the button wiyh 97ss. I overlimp becuase raises were getting called all over the place. Flop comes A108sss. Bet, raise, call and I snap figuring if I am beat I still have 2 outs for the straight flush. K6ss was there and a few hands later I'm out completely.

While great tournament and structure I'm highly disappointed. This is the third higher buyin derby tourney that has just gone bananas.

GL to all playing tomorrow... I was hoping not to do the family thing tomorrow but maybe for the better.

Actual 113 , top 56 pays. $25,101 first place.

Well I pooped the bed and busted with 64 left. Squeezed from big blind with 24 bb with 88 and got called by original caller with 99. Haven't done equity calcs but I knew his calling range was tight there so maybe I spewed.

i ended up 28 waste of time. Up to a million with 40 left and had set over set and straight over set, just ran cold. 666 bucks is a bad number to get paid lol

Good run though...tough beats, you gave youself a chance to go deep.

But, I wouldn't call it a waste of time. I've put in a lot of effort to developing a spreadsheet calculation to evaluate all the tournaments in Tampa Bay in terms of skill level and bang for the buck, taking into account buy-in, house fee, dealer tips, add-ons and blinds structure. Here are the best regular weekly/monthly tournaments (higher the number, better the tourney):

Good luck with the phone app, would be interesting if you could roll it out on a national basis (by market or region?) then you might have a market with sufficient size and scope to scale the product and make some $$$.

Anybody notice the Mega Stack Tournament all during May? There are several Day 1's. 25,000 starting stacks with 30 min blind levels. May have to play this one.

They just did this in March. Prize pool hit over 100k for the five day 1s. Iirc first was around +25k. I may be off on that. I played 2 day 1s. Missed the first by about 4-5 runners and then on the second bullet lost three straight hands AA

So do you have to finish in the top number of players to move on to day 2? Or do the day 1's just play certain number of levels and if you survive then you continue from that point on day 2? Confusing me when you said missed the first by 4-5 runners?

They play down on Day 1 to 20% of the field or midnight, whichever comes first (but probably will never run to midnight). Pays top 10%.

Missed day 2 by 4-5 players. It does play down to 20%.
