1, 3, 4, 6, 9 and the noon MTT satellite on 7/6. If I win a seat in the satellite, I'll have bunch of WPT promo chips for sale at a small discount.

Im not sure why anyone would play-that event in the first place? Sounds like skill will be minimal and luck major

Are the high-hand tickets given away for the $220 tourney transferable? If so, does anyone know the going rate? I'm looking to buy one for next week. Thanks.

Unless someone wins a second one they have never "transferable" not to say it hasn't happened. I've heard as high as 200 to as low as 150/160 if you can find one. Based on how small it's been recently, it seems as if either not many are being used or not as many people are showing up. Im also thinking about playing it, depending on how work goes this week.

Played a few tournaments here before. Now playing cash for the first time. Got seated at a table with no shuffler... Uhm, wtf??? Okay, can I get a table change? Nope, all 4 2/5 tables are at tables with no shufflers. If I weren't waiting for 5/10 (which does have a shuffler), I'd leave right now. Not having a shuffler for 2/5 games is entirely unacceptable in a room this size.

Furthermore, I got seated on the other side of the bar where there's no monitor with the lists, and you can't hear the brush announcing the lists. Went up and told themthe situation so hopefully they'll come get me when my turn comes up. :-/

Pretty awful first experience so far.

Did anyone play the halloween mtt last year? What was the field size?
Is anyone else torn between playing the silks or the derby tourney? 25k for first in the silks seems much higher than whatever it is for derby.

Silks had a real good turnout last year. Hard to pass up $25k for first vs $25k total

First, it ain't going to be 25k total.... I realistically expect the prize pool for Derby's tournament to surpass 40k. 25k is the gtd. on 230 (200+20+10) for 20k in chips I think might be better value than the Silks tournament. They only need 125 to get the 25k and I can't imagine them not getting at LEAST 300 over the two days. The 245/275 sunday WPT regional events they hold each series gets 300 just on that day.

The Silks has definitely a softer fields than Derby, IMO, but the major disadvantage of having 25k gtd as first is that the other payouts are disproportionate. I think I'm going to give Derby the nod, personally, for this one and play it on Saturday

Silks ran an excellent tourney with a great structure last year. However this year's structure does not appear to be nearly as good as last year's plus the overall cost of the tourney will be higher as their chip add on is no longer a dealer add on, it's effectively additional rake. So you are paying an add on "fee" that is on top of the tourney juice that goes to house and then you still haven't tipped anything since this add on doesn't go to the dealers. Here's the Silks link for a discussion on this:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/19...7/index34.html

Derby is the better value and will probably eclipse Silks in terms of player #s (although Derby may have a slightly tougher field) although IMO the best value that weekend is the WPT regional in Jax at Best Bet, 3 day 1s with a $340 buy in $100K guarantee, very good structure as well. I've been up to Best Bet and it's a real nice room. Here is a link to Best Bet WPT tourney schedule:

I don't understand the Jax tourneys. Day 1A thursday, Day 1B friday, Day 1C saturday? Is there not a day 2? If there is only 1 starting day why not label them just day 1, 2,3 ?

Day 2 is on Sunday. The others are all Day 1 starting days. You have to look at the structure sheets to see Day 2 schedule. Links on their web site, and I believe in the BestBet Jax thread.

Anyone know how advancing to second day of the Derby Halloween tournament will work? Will it be a percentage or a time cutoff?

while we are discussing about tournament.. does anyone knows which one is better for Monday's tournament? Hard rock's 7pm 10K guaranteed (300+10$) VS Derby lane's 7pm 220+10$(deep stacked but no guarantee)
I played hardrock tourney which was fairly soft with usual tourney regs there but i want to know how derby lane tourney is in terms of players, # of players
(I will post the same post over @ hard rock tampa thread too)
I just play tuesday tournament over DL every week and some good tourney over weekends but i dont know the turnout for weekly tourneys here at DL.
Thanks

I saw the structure sheet over the weekend. 20% or the blind level closest to midnight. So 11hrs or 20% whichever comes first.

The whole 20% OR blind level thing could have caused issues if the two days had ended at drastically different times, but they were pretty close. Not sure why they didn't just play to the same time both days.

Still, it was a great structure overall for the buy-in. They didn't do the normal rapidly speeding blinds once we got to ~1,500/3,000, which some places do. I think when the bubble broke it was still an average stack of 25BB or so.

I think about 400 people counting rebuys.
