It was 9,000. They paid 18 spots IIRC. It is worth playing.

While we're talking about derby, did anyone see any limit games get going for decent stakes there this weekend? I've only played there once this month, but it was a Tuesday night and all they had going was 4/8 lhe, 4/8 lo8 (no kill), and that silly straight 2 game they insist on spreading to keep the old folks from getting grumpy.

How is Derby's action on Friday & Saturday nights (what limits are they running & how many tables?)? Thinking about checking it out this weekend, I haven't been there since poker went uncapped. I've been playing 1/3 NLH & 2/5 NLH at the Hard Rock since July 1st and was thinking about checking out Derby for a change of pace. I use to play tournaments there quite a bit, now wondering about their cash games.

I haven't made it down there, but I've heard the $1/3 has been good action, and they've had 4-8 $2/5's running most weekend nights. Hopefully someone who has been playing there can confirm.

Thanks! That sounds like a pretty good amount of action , hopefully this can be confirmed.

That sounds about right, although the $1/3 has been pretty nitty. The $2/5 is where it's at for action.

i grinded the 5/10 for about 5 hours one day, then decided i didn't want to play any more so shoved all in blind for about 6 orbits straight (as per usual) lost about 3 max buyins and a few min buyins. (shoving blind, still broke even on the day)

Sounds a lot like the HR's action and if this is the case I may start playing at Derby a little more since it is just a slightly further drive than the HR from my house. I like Derby's room better and you don't leave there smelling like an ashtray!

Were you the younger guy who was wearing the pink shirt? Trying to bring 1k into the 1/3 game?

Yeah you were pretty smashed. I was the only one at the table giving you any action.

I refuse to play there and the horse track anymore because of the 2$ jackpot drop, that is ridiculous

Does Derby do "no flop no drop"?

Is it really a $2 BBJ drop at Derby? Thought it was only $1 BBJ and $1 rake, and they raked whether there was a flop or not.

Isn't that the same as Hard Rock? Silks?

I am not going to be able to play at Rock, Silks, or Derby until the end of July but if anyone knows the rakes at these 3 places it would be appreciated. I will update when I go to all 3 if no one has done so already.

Just think it would be helpful to all to post the rakes at the "Big 3" places for comparison. I think they are all the same for 1/3 and 2/5 (all horrible...lol). Isn't it 10% up to 5$, min 1$, AND $1 BBJ for every pot. Correct me if I'm wrong; couldn't find this info on any B&M thread.

^ I know it's 10% up to $5 max with $1 min & $1 BBJ with "no flop, STILL DROP" at the HR.

Lately when I've been there it seems like the $500 is only one going.

Here is what was running on Friday at 9:30pm at Derby Lane.

1/3 - 7 tables ($100-$300)
2/5 - 4 tables ($200-$500)
5/10 - 1 table ($400-$1000)

Limit
Straight $2 - 7 tables
4/8 - 1 table

Interest list for 4/8 O8 that was never called.
