And, I am sold, not because they sold me, just because I feel it will far and away outclass the poker rooms. You can't even drink at those places. What kinda fun is that?!
Thanks for all of your updates. This sounds really exciting. Good luck with your job once you start. Now only if they would fix the sports betting to include the Super Bowl and not only Parlays.

Blame the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court for that one.

Seems like a good location to me

Right off I-95. Will attract DC area and Baltimore players

They also have the horse racing which a lot of people love to watch live

They will probably do better than the PA casinos imo

Thanks for the input Steel. So soft opening is on the 14th and hard opening is on the 19th. Only structured limit games for the soft opening but then I'm assuming after the 19th they will have 1-2 NL and 2-5 NL right??

It would suck if the tables were all limit, that would be horrible.

Also, you think they might have PLO (high only) offered?

Any word on Dover Downs and Harrington? Are they also going to open poker rooms soon?

Not really, considering there isn't a whole hell of a lot to do in Delaware. If you find yourself at loose ends on a weekday night, going to a room with a good mix of games, bars and restaurants would be nice. Once the room gets going, I'd like to try to get some sort of mixed game going. A 4/8 or 6/12 HOSE or HORSE would be great. Even a two way hi/lo game. I'd love to see straight 7 stud, but I won't get my hopes up. But if Del Park's room becomes a straight NLHE spot, I doubt I'll be going much.

I sent an email to Harrington and they said they would have a date by the end of the week. I got that response on Tuesday

Pick one night per week (e.g. Thu) and I can pretty much guarantee that I will be a reg in any HOSE game from 4/8 up to pink chip. That would be awesome.

Not trying to take the thread off-topic, but to me, it seems like Delaware Park is going to be the room with the most games, most limits, and the higher limit games. I can not help but think Harrington is not going to have anything other than 1/2NL, 2/4 LHE, and 1/5 stud. What does anyone else think?

Maybe not. I think both Dover and Harrington are closer to Baltimore and Washington than Wilmington is.

I think it's closer in miles but not in time. I can make it to Del Park in 1 hour and 5 minutes from junction of I-695 (Balt beltway) and I-70. I know I couldn't make it to either Dover or Harrington anywhere close to that time.

I-95 is very fast if you don't drive it when it's congested and Del Park is right of the interstate. If you're going N on I-95 and there's a backup back from the Delaware toll, take the last exit in Md., Rte 279 N and take local roads to Del Park (or Del Sports Lounge).

I would be up for a 3/6 or 4/8 HORSE or HOSE game one night per week. Anything over that is probably too much for my current lame b-roll. Thursday night would be perfect for me.

What doesn't AC have? I'm curious about this statement. What games are being offered that AC doesn't have?

As opposed to AC simply doesn't have players wanting to play - which I see as being a whole different issue.

Okay, so that makes 3 for a limit mixed game at del Park. Do I hear 4?

4. Five-card draw (high and low);
5. Five-card stud (high); and
6. Mambo stud (high-low split six or better).

I would be up for the limit mixed game if it were played at the 3\6 - 4\8 level on a weekly basis. Preferably HORSE but would not opposed to HOSE if that was the general consensus.

I'm becoming mildly optimistic that this game might come off. I don't mind HORSE, but I've found that people get bored easy with the Razz orbit. Even the fish don't like to chase too much and a low card raise will take the pot uncontested on 3rd street more often then not. But we'll see what the market will bear.
