By the way, are the structures a little different than the typical saturday tournies there at DP? How are they compared to Borgata? Do you have any links to their last years structures? How was the player turn out? I might drive up and play. Thanks if you can provide info.

There are a handful of hotels nearby depending on your price range. They're all kind of nestled around the same interchange (I-95 and Route 7 and Churchman's Road) so the locations are all basically the same. The cheapest would be a Days Inn or Red Roof Inn. On the high end would be the Courtyard or the Hilton. I stayed in the Fairfield Inn once while on a trip for a job, and it was fine (pretty standard for 100/night, nothing out of the ordinary). I live in the area though, so I can't really speak to the quality/pricing of the others except to tell you that they're all the same distance to Delaware Park - less than five minutes.

that is a great turn-out for a quasi-holiday, i.e., a lot of people still have to go to work (including me)

however, with the tourney structure, i.e., 10,000 starting chips and 20 minute blinds, it is simply a lottery with better odds and some skill involved (quoting Barry Greenstein)

I saw ad for DP Poker Classic in the room today, but no signs of schedule being released. Big day today being a semi-holiday. Wonder if crowds will drop off this evening.

We had a full list for 3 hours b4 they got it going about 4pm.....played till 630....could have started at noon but they were short dealers......

What did you guys each take home?

I was running like god for the first 3 hours, was hitting every flop & kept getting dealt aces. It was pretty amazing, but pocket aces were my undoing as well, as I couldn't bring myself to fold them on a flop of 9-J-K rainbow when the one guy with more than me at the table open-shipped in front of me.... I probably should have stopped & thought for a minute before saying, "call"... ahh well, it was a nice day off anyway......

Plo was a good game monday. 6-7 handed for a few hours. It helped getting a pot bet called by 2 pair with no redraw against my middle set. Not a bad day.

made my first trip here friday night/saturday morning.. played 1/2 and profited almost a grand.. shoulda been up a whole lot more but earlier in the night i got river 1 outered for a 1k pot. straight flush > ace high flush.. after i busted out of the 7pm tourney, went back to 1/2 and this arab looking guy was just crushing it, played every hand and just mashed every friggen flop lol.. he was sitting with like 4k at one point.. finally got it in on the turn with middle set against his TPTK and my girlfriends straight that got there.. she took the 1k main pot, and i took the 1k side pot..
great room, ok dealers, ok floor personnel... I WILL BE BACK REAL SOON!
