I love how they try to make it seem like you are getting a deal with ten dollar rake being just 2.5 percent on 400. Ridiculous rake, hope other casinos don’t get ideas.

Also lmao at $3 promo. They better start handing money out at the door when you walk in.

Poker in NYS is such a joke.
Haha turning stone will run a good tournament again. Just gotta give it time and let them get dealers back (I assume we are far off from tournaments but I’m a pessimist). Rivers Schenectady also looks to be opening again so we should get tournaments there.

I just cant believe how bad the promotions are considering the $3 promo rake, did not not have anything saved up before shutting down? hard to believe..

Their promos are 1/3rd as good as what TS has been running, hope they catch back up soon.

I'm surprised more Del Lago dealers haven't applied to become TS dealers tbh, not that many of them would make the cut lol

If they don't AT LEAST 3x the amount of their high hand giveaways very soon, then you know 100% they are stealing from the players, on top of charging absolutely absurd rake.

Are the games juicy again since the reopening? I remember playing at Seneca & it was always a reg-filled nitfest.

yea pretty juicy for now - the button straddle/match largest stack still makes most of the tables play like a 2/5+ and theres quite a few action junkies that still show up.

some tables can be pretty rough still so don't be afraid to ask for a table change.

They only have a small # of their total dealers available so only 6-8 tables opened and wait lists can get really long on fri/sat evenings

Maybe it was just an aberration, but this past weekend the $1/$3 tables played bigger than $2/$5. Maybe that's unfair because both Friday and Saturday there was only 1 table of $2/$5 going each night (maybe 2 on Friday, I forget), but with the stack matching there really is no difference that I saw between the two games.

What has the player reaction been to the ridiculous rake being taken here ?

I travel for business and I used to stay at Del Lago and play some poker. Guess I'll move it to Turning Stone when possible.

i've been back twice since they re-opened, no one other than me commented on the rake lol, and I only did my first session..

the games are beatable still due to how deep many of the tables play, i was a small winner before the rake increase - i plan to just tip much less to counter the rake. Not really fair to the dealers, but i'm going to be sticking to $1 tips per hand and not bump it up even if its a large pot coming my way..

I made the same adjustment. I would say I am a generous tipper, regularly giving $2-10 for medium/large pots. I will be sticking to $1 here. Hate to do it to the dealers but they don't give us a choice with the rake they are charging.

And that's when I go, I don't plan on playing there often.

The players know about the rake and generally grumble about it, but the general consensus about the rake is that it's better than not being able to play poker at all (for now.)

The bigger issue for the players is the lack of dealers (and even the poker room complains about this, so its apparently a directive coming from up high). Apparently the dealers are now all part-time, so I'm not 100% sure if the dealers are choosing to not come back or they just want to limit the number of dealers on the floor for some reason. But it sucks when the waiting list is 40 deep and there are at least a half dozen empty tables.

I'm not sure what Turning Stone's waiting list situation is like, but even if you are coming from Rochester (or at least from the west), if it's already 8 pm on Friday or Saturday, it might actually be faster to get a table at Turning Stone. But again, I'm not 100% sure of their waiting list situation either; I just know Del Lago's can be over an hour.

It was three hour wait past Saturday. I was there for 1-3 but played 2-5 instead game played huge more like a 5-10 and even had a 15000 dollar pot. The rake is brutal and everyone is aware of it but soon the plan to have 300 dollar high hands every half hour.

Update, there are apparently two more dealers than last week, so the waiting list should not be as long. I was not here last night though.

Interesting bit of news: Churchill Downs "acquired" Peninsula Pacific Entertainment for $2.485 billion. If this goes through, that would mean Churchill Downs owns Del Lago.

Churchill Downs Inc. CHDN, 3.89% said Tuesday it has entered an agreement to acquire most of the assets of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment LLC, or P2E, for $2.485 billion. The deal will give Churchill all of P2E's assets in Virginia and New York along with its Sioux City casino property. That comprises Colonial Downs Racetrack, a Thoroughbred racing facility in New Kent, Virginia, as well as six "Rosie's Gaming Emporium" horse racing facilities across Virginia. That will give the company about 2,700 historical racing machines and expand the geographic diversity of its live and historical racing entertainment venues. In New York, Churchill will acquire del Lago Resort & Casino based in Waterloo, a 96,000 sq. ft. casino with approximately 1,700 slot machines, 80 table games, a 205-room hotel, nine restaurants / bar areas, 758 covered parking spaces, a 6,000 sq. ft. sportsbook area, a 2,400-seat entertainment venue, and a 7,200 sq. ft. outdoor event venue. In Sioux City, Iowa, the company will take ownership of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, a a 45,000 sq. ft. casino with 639 slot machines, 20 table games, a 54-room hotel, 1,511 parking spaces with 530 covered, two live entertainment venues, a 100-piece music memorabilia collection, and a Hard Rock-branded sportsbook. Under the terms of the deal, the company is expected to sell the real property associated with Hard Rock Sioux City to a third party and then acquire the operations and lease the property from that third party. The company will have the rights to develop further venues in Virginia. The deal is expected to immediately boost per-share earnings and free cash flow. Shares were down 1.1% premarket and have fallen 4% in the last 12 months, while the S&P 500 SPX, 0.83% has gained 11%.

After playing at Del Lago a few times and realizing the max rake is $10 to the house and $3 to the promotions drop, I'm strongly considering not returning. That's a huge bite out of your hourly profit. The only saving grace is the match the stack option. You can only beat that kind of rake by playing a bigger game.

Does anyone know Turning Stone's rake? At which amounts is each $1 taken out for the house and promotions. Thanks!
