I could be wrong...those are the buyins for the 5-5 holdem game. Probably same tho.

Daytona is 10x better. There are a lot more games/tables, the tournaments are structured better, the promotions are better, the food is better, the room itself is nicer, and it is much busier. I am about the same distance from each poker room, and I never choose Melbourne any more.

It's unfortunate to see the rake is the same here as it is in Jax. Also disappointing to see drinks are not free. Bravo system is a big plus. Promotions are way better. Are there any comps here?

BestBet thread has way more regular posters than here with regs that seem to love the place. Seems odd since there appears to be a ton of action here.

Am I going to be disappointed for driving by Jax to come to DBKC rather than stopping at BestBet?

I've played at both 5+ times. The 5-10 nl game in Daytona is better but the 2-5 nl in Jax is better. Haven't played 1-2 nl, 2-2 nl. Jax has much bigger plo games btw if youre in to that.

Daytona isn't running a regular 5-10nl game anymore, the regulars who played it are sitting at a 5-5 round and round mixed game now. Not my cup of tea.

Can someone scope out the 10-25 nl running today? I see it on the bravo and are too far to go check it out myself.

Any grinders make the move to Florida? These games run often enough for a part time grinder to make the move to the Daytona area? What is the max buy in on the 1/2NL games?

5/5 nl/plo mix, or 5/5 plo/plo8 mix?

There are always plenty of 1/2 and 2/5 games going on at Daytona, and the room is open 10am - 4am Mon-Thur and then doesn't close over the weekend. The larger games are sporadic. Max buy in is $200 at 1/2.

Jacksonville isn't too far away from Daytona either, so a grinder could travel there to play as well. I think overall, though, the action would be better for someone living in Tampa area or South Florida - lots more rooms.

I see a half/half game has been running recently, anyone know days/times it usually goes?

It runs almost everyday. The time it opens varies but most likely is running by 7

I can myself afford to just grind the 2/5 games etc, just looking for 5/5 and bigger.

^ Yes alcohol is offered and not free. As far as the # of games for 2/5 nl and higher, check the Bravo system here: http://www.bravopokerlive.com/site/s...cid=DBKC&mid=x. (BTW the poker room does not open today for Thanksgiving until 4PM this afternoon, and of course it will be open tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.)

I see on bravo they have listed 1-2 and 2-5 NL but they also have 2-2 listed. Is that a limit game?

Yes, the 2-2 is a limit game, packed with cheap asses trying to hit the half-hourly high hand.

Beers are generally 3.75-4.75, although they usually have a monthly special for a couple bucks. They also have a full liquor bar, but it's not cheap.

On a normal weekend evening there are at least 4-5 2/5 games and either a 5/5 mixed or a 5/10 game going. Probably will be more this weekend.
