Anyone know about how many runners there will be for the Saturday 7PM tourney or the 1PM Sunday one?

Sunday's 1PM typically gets anywhere between 30-40 runners. Saturday night's I've seen get anywhere from 20-70. It's really, really hard to predict that one. I know when they do their big high hand payout days, they typically cancel/run with less tables, due to not wanting to break a ring game.

New Tournament Director, Amy, is really making a difference. Lots of shots at WSOP main event tickets and is now a HPT stop. Excellent 2-5 action and sometimes the 5-10 game is also good. Beware, in the 5-10 and 10-20 games a couple of fearless LAGS with excellent hand reading skills and did I say fearless.

Well there hasn't been a post here updating the action in nearly 2 months...so, as I am about to make my first trip there this week...how is the action during the week and how does it rate among the other FL east coast rooms? Thanks - SlowC5

Not a bad place. I visited this past weekend.

Not sure on the stakes you play, but 1/2 was pretty soft. Beware the set-miners. Ended up 3x my BI.

Service was decent and the comps were fair. I hit a high hand promo while there.

Pretty decent dealers.

Con:

Have to pay for drinks.

Other than that, I'd probably recommend it.

While it is a smaller room compared to like the Hard Rock Tampa to me its one of the better poker rooms action-wise on the coast. Most games are soft. And the promos are ok, just because the generate action. Loose 2-5 and 5-10 games are pretty standard at nights though 5-10 going off is hit or miss some weekdays. 1-2s are super loose of course.

Dealer are pretty good and they really try spit the cards for a fast paced game. Players there also tend to be more jovial which makes for a nice experience. Probably the beachtown atmosphere.

My favorite reason while I like the room is because players there will play short-handed for the most part. I've play 5-6 handed games there all the time especially late night 11-4 which is when I mostly play.

An incident tonight, for your review. Who was correct?

River comes, 2 players in the hand. Player 1 checks, player 2 grabs chips, puts them over the line and is about to drop them on the felt (still over the line) and Player 1 snap calls and puts his chips over line on the felt. Now, Player 2's chips are still in his hand but over the line and hasn't touched the felt. The dealer rules his chips are in the pot. Player 2 calls the floor. The dealer and floor talk about it, floor rules Player 2's chips are not in the pot so he did not have those chips at risk. After the floor manager leaves the table, the dealer states to the table that he (the dealer) is correct and the floor was wrong. For this venue, what is the correct call here?

Also, seems bad form for the dealer to state he still disagrees with his boss.

The dealer was correct. It's one of the few drawbacks of the room is that they really don't enforce the chips past the line rule everytime. His boss was wrong. A good dealer should let players know the correct ruling for future reference. I know he wasnt trying to upstage his boss really, but right is right.

Thanks. Yeah with all my instinct, as soon as the floor was called, I whispered to the player to my left "I saw him pass the line". Anyway, I left after the next hand partially due to that, the fact the boss and dealer weren't on the same page.

there is no "line plays" in daytona. Dealer is wrong, floor is correct. 5/10 goes everyday with a list. Dealers are either good or poor. no in between

Does anyone know if they still run PLO8? I will be in town sometime in late November and I had played in a PLO8 there about 3 years ago...

Its hit or miss. There is a core group of players. Seems like it usually goes on Monday nights and weekends, but there is now a decent limit hi-lo game (like 10-20 maybe?) drawing some players over to Hard Rock.

It seems like there is just a smallish number of regular players interested in the game, but November is getting close to season so it might generate more interest as time wears on.

yeah the PLO8 runs between 3-4 times a week depending. Start or jump on the list and nudge the brushes to announce that the game is trying to start.
