Has anyone played recently in this casino?
If so, what limits/games were spread in the poker room?
Thx.

I actually did play at the Dakota about 3 weeks ago while I was home for the summer from University. There $1/$2 game was super soft and the players were very loose the night I played, Not sure if thats how the game is all the time. It was a Saturday night so It could have been a bunch of idiot tourists

I'm gonna be in Saskatoon in a couple weeks. Might get the itch to play poker. Besides Dakata Dunes, any other casinos that spread poker?

No, Dakota Dunes is the only casino in the area. If you're willing to drive an hour and a half or more there are a few other casinos in the province, but other than Casino Regina (3 hours away and much better) none of them have as many games running.

Replying to the OP:

I've played there three times. I've only played on Saturdays. I don't have a lot of live experience but I was playing TAG and did ok each time. The three times I played (in a 3 month stretch) I noticed a number of people were there every time, but from what I understand this is pretty standard. No comps except free pop/coffee/tea, long wait if you don't call early, cramped "room". It's ok, but only because there's nothing else.

I'd be curious if anyone has played there recently and what their thoughts are.

Played here last night. Casino is fine. Nothing worth going out of your way for but perfectly adequate if you happen to be in the area. The casino is just a small building out in the middle of nothing. Adequately decorated on the inside. The food at the Arrowhead Grill was delicious. They also have a Tim Horton's and a deli.

The poker room is not a room. It's just 3 tables out in the middle of the floor. I was there on a Thursday night and the first $1/$2NL game (buyins are from $50 to $400 I believe, maybe $300) got going at around 7:15pm. The table stayed completely full for a good 4 hours and a second table got going at around 10. Dealers were competent and friendly, the other players were friendly and just had fun, game was action-packed - half of the hands were straddled, most hands were raised preflop, limpers almost never folded when it was raised behind them.

I had a good time and will definitely go back.
