well this thread is dead again so so something nit picky but that I find fn annoying is people separating their stack into more than one pile.. dealers are usually good with spotting dirty stacks and big chips behind but is this allowed?.. like having ~60cm between piles of chips?.. numerous times I have overbet to get player AI only to notice they have more behind..

So, how did it go Tonna? Did you find it comfortable or strange and did you find the standard much softer than you might have feared?

Whoop yeah i forgot to post my review. I was kinda tilted after getting ****ed around by parking and was late to meet my mate. After that I couldn't believe how soft it was (i only played 1/2) , I had a great time humoring the fish with pleasant conversation, its way more fun live then the chat box. Was lots of fun actually getting to hold chips and stuff as well. I made a pot odds call a couple hands in lost a stack right away, ran kinda bad but then it turned around and I finished like $30+ for the night. Can't say I didn't feel a tad scared money when I had like $350 in front of me and some donk had me covered. But I'm sure that will go away as I play more. Towards the end of the night I was getting better at judging the pot size and all that couple times i misjudged/didn't notice peoples stack size tho. I was a little nervous when the action is on me and everyone looks at me while I'm thinking about my action but I makes me smile that I look like a noob and fumble my chips and whatever but my understanding of the fundamentals of poker is so much greater then all the people at my table ( im not saying im good just that they suck a lot more ). All in all it was loads of fun I will defiantly go back soon and get some more live experience.

Glad it went well Tonna. I've been playing there for a few years now and I remember very well being nervous when I had a few hundred in front of me and the pots started getting a bit bigger. But, once you build your role and build your experience there, it gets a lot easier. It won't be long before you're 4-bet bluff shoving $400 with J-5 off suit into the big stack, highly confident he'll fold!

Anyone playing much of the ANZPT at Crown this week? I'm playing the $125 DeepStack on Sunday (although looking at the structure...its still going to be a turbo shovefest pretty quickly it seems)

If anyone wants to grab food or what not lemme know ^^

I've been playing a bit of 1/2 and 2/3 at Crown after not playing there for a year or so and noticed very few regs who I'd see all the time back then. So I'm wondering if anyone has beaten the 2/3 game there longterm there for a decent winrate or is the rake structure just too brutal in the end?

Mincashed the 125 DeepStack today, it was an epic shovefest...20 minute levels with terrible blind structure, it was also run pretty poorly due to the EJ Whitten charity event being on at the same time

A friend and I were discussing whether there is a general rule to whether a player will call or fold more often under time the clock pressure. We came to the concensus that the individual will go with there most common tendency ( station-call nit-fold) when facing a bet and decreasing clock. What are people's thoughts on this?

You may well be right although my observations are a little different. I see players facing the clock for the first time panic and call, but after that, I reckon they have a tendency to fold under pressure from the clock. Either way, I'm going to be watching for it more closely from now!

I saw someone pay two extra dollars to buy the extra 2x 30secs on the river before going all-in with his quads. Got called and won obviously and left the table the next hand.

Other players were still going on about poker etiquette an hour later; but the bottom line is he got the cash and thats the only reason most play poker.

Exactly I would definitely use it in that spot. A very good innvestnent. Also if a player was annoying me and jammed into me when I had the nuts I would definitely pay the $2 before I call for epic tilt value.

I just cashed out at $800 at Crown on Monday night 2/3 turbo $200 buy in after over 3 hr play. I found it the most loose game I played and I visit Burswood in WA now and then....

Some random plays going on all night, hard to get anyone to fold, bluffing would be a waste because you would get 2 - 3 callers almost always, pots were always more than $50. I was dumbfounded by the plays during the night. I actually was making more mistakes than usual and could have walked away with more.

WOW. Is this normal for CROWN?

Not normal but not incredibly rare either. The right table with a couple of loose players and things can get very swingy very quickly. Last Wednesday evening before the tourney, I turned $200 to $840 in 30 minutes; I wish that was normal but alas it isn't!

yeh there's regular 10/20 fixed limit omaha (pretty much gets up every night I think). 1/2 PLO gets up most nights, 5/5 PLO gets up maybe once a week.

there's also a 20/40 fixed limit rotation game (holdem/omaha) that gets up two nights a week - don't ask me which nights though. it starts at 6pm sharp. i'd call to find out if ur interested.

btw any 2/5 regs on 2p2? i'm sure we'd have met by now but it'd be cool to know if you're 2p2ers.

no. 5/5 (500-1k buy-in) has been getting up most days lately, and is almost always a 5/5/10 game - with everyone agreeing to straddle. there's only ever one table, and it is tough to start, and can end abruptly. it's often too tough to bother with when you could be playing juicy 2/5.

around aussie millions time higher stakes do get up

Good to hear about the 5/5, that's disappointing about the 5/10 though, I used to play 5/10 there like all the time a while back and it was consistently amazing.

crown just covertly upped the time charge for their time games to $250 minimum drop. So in the past if you were short handed you would all pay $25 time then $25 would be taken out of all pots over $500 until they made $200 drop. Now they don't stop taking out the $25 until it's $250 total.

Such bull****.
