30 for each street and 60 OTR, I've been saying that for years. 20 seems a bit steep. I mean, I don't mind too much, but I think this might deter some of the players that you like to have in the game

Yeah 15 sec is crazy. Also if they're interested in making more rake per hour, I think their focus should be less on player's decision times and the dealers' time. Use two decks, hand shuffle, and watch the rake per hour skyrocket.

I personally find turn decisions take me longer than river ones...river is often fairly simple unless I'm really deep, if I've planned the hand properly

learnt a about a rule at crown i didn't know about, in split pots, the players don't lose money on the hand. so the dealer should take money out of the rake so that the players are at least break even in the hand.
I'm sure there have been a couple of time in the past where i was in a split pot and probably lost a few dollars from rake, so you should just remind the dealer if it happens. and i can remember a time in a blind vs blind hand it was a split pot and the dealer didn't take any rake (I just kept quiet about though ) so that was probably why.
so this rule should probably change the way you play in potential split pots, you may need to remind the dealer though.

Is that actually a legit rule? I hate split pots traditionally because you lose still but if this is true then splitting the blinds is pretty cool

The rule is if 2 players to the pot before flop, it's split. If you get 3 to the flop and 2 get it AI and chop, they take rake.

PLO runs everyday at the crown, usually just a game or two of 1/3 but also 2/5 on busy days.

Hi all, if anyone will be at crown jan 26-28, I'm looking to exchange my AUD to your USD at current conversion rate at that time. Looking to exchange up to 10k AUD, with a minimum of 1k. Let's save ourselves a couple bucks in currency exchange fees! Message me to arrange meet up - thanks!

Rumour going around Crown Poker will relinquish its 24 hour status and revert to closing 4am to 10am weekdays (still 24hrs over the weekend). Low patronage; costs way too high to carry it anymore, say the beancounters.

Sometime after Easter it seems; but revert back to 24hrs during special occasions e.g.. Aussie Millions.

Won't affect many, few around at 6am.

If, and a big IF, it happens - interesting to see if Sydney follows suit.

Aussie Millions now well underway but numbers are well down from say a decade ago. Management seem to get it more streamlined and efficient, but population numbers are clearly declining. Interstate numbers are down; with the tennis on accommodation prices go through the roof - this always cuts into the budget and makes for a tough fortnight. Many interstaters have realised in previous years that they are not the player they thought they were and don't bother turning up,

Hardly heard an Irish accent on the 1/3 tables this year - in the past there would be 2 or 3 seemingly at every table. End of the airline war between Qantas and Virgin adds to the domestic burden; cheap local flight are long gone. Cuts local and overseas movement down a fair bit.

Crown just seems to be getting harder every year. Still a few weekend warriors around on Friday and Saturday, more the case when the footy checks in, buts it's getting quiet on all tables. Midday madness type tournies still get patronized, but that needs a spark too. Don't see too many guys in suits anymore; don't see as many female players and the pension money seems to be getting spent elsewhere.

Crown needs to introduce a bit of diversity in the games they offer; Texas might have run its course.

Numbers down because all the reputable online sites pulled out of the Australian market...

Crown seems to have picked up a bit in recent days as the main event draws closer. They seem to have gone satellite crazy attempting to break the previous record for number of entrants to the main event. The overflow area near the car park is still the same, but the level 1 pit is down to 10 tables; in the past there would be 50 for cash games. So wait times for cash games in the evenings are unusually very long.

It all seems sterile and robotic this Aussie Millions. Crown Poker tweets don't really reflect how it is - lacks atmosphere and pizzazz. But then again, maybe it has always been that way. (It never fails to bring the deluded poker player crashing back to earth though - AM fortnight crushes poker egos en masse.)

Are the any Melbourne / Crown regulars that can tell me what PLO runs regularly at Crown? I know Aussie Millions is on at the moment but I mean during regular times when there are no tournaments on.

I left Melbourne like 5 months ago but 1/3 ran almost everyday. I never played the 2/5 but I saw it on the list quite often (could be interest of course).

I dunno, I'd say a "deluded poker player" actually won last year. Guy was a 1/3 player.

If they want numbers to go up or remain the same, they're going to have to partner with an online site even without online play allowed in AUS. It's really too far and expensive for average western poker players to make the trip without winning a satty online.

I myself would love to come back to Melbourne to play it, but I'd have to qualify online for it to be even close to worth it.

10%, $15 cap, less of short handed. Gets up on weekends and sometimes during week? Not sure on the last part - I talked to some regs down there during AM and people were saying different things...

If it's after AM, the game might struggle to get up. But you could proooobbably get one table a night if you're lucky. 5/5/10 w/ $1k cap.
