Bad Beat is now $410K as of last night.

I heard they have folded it twice in the last 4 days. Both at a no limit table.

I'm starting to think these stories are BS. Played a tourney Wednesday and a guy said they folded it at a 4/8 table. Unraised pot and guy folds 35ss and guy has AA on AA24sss board.

Who knows

I play there sometimes. My drive is 2 hours but since I started playing in lake charles at the lauberge, I think the action is way better there. To each it's on though. The jackpot is over 400k I have never seen so many 4-8 limit games running through the night. Last time the jackpot was hit was last oct...2011

I am a dealer at Coushatta's poker room. 1. The badbeat is $429k (as of 8/31/12) and the back-up is $303k). 2. The badbeat was folded 2x a few weeks ago. Once in $1-3nlh and once in 4/8 LHE. The story about the Quad Aces vs. straight flush is correct, but the hand was folded pre. Like a 2-5 suited or 3-5 suited. The NLH hand a day or two earlier 88 folded after the flop of 775 to a check-raise AI by AA. Running 8's gave the post-flop caller a straight flush and 88 would have made quads. 3. The reason there was so many players there last weekend was because we had our $25,000 give-a-way that had over 50,000 tickets in the hopper. Add that to the bbj and you have a packed house. Longest wait i heard was 11 hours to get in a game. 4. Our 1-2 blind 4/8 game was an idea we got from IP-biloxi. We do it because we were looking for a way to make our limit games last longer at the time. For the regular 4/8 player i understand how this makes for a "bad" game, but for our regular, non-ridiculous jackpot crowd that plays everyday...it works for them and our games stay open longer..ie...more rake. Thanks for coming to Coushatta and for all new players to our room we hope you return to play with us. Dwade

How many do they usually get for this? I saw it is a $220 buy in. Trying to find a close place to go for the weekend that has a decent tourney on Saturday.

other option is shreveport

I don't know, it's been a month or two since I've been there.

Coushatta just changed the BBJ so there is a minor and a major jackpot. Per my phone call to the room last week, the minor is quad 2s or better beaten, and the major is quad Jacks. They are pretty good at keeping the BBJ updated on the website - once a week or so.

I've been there a few times in the last year, and they usually have had quite a few 1-3 games on weekends, but I haven't been there since all their big BBJs got hit in May or so. I'll be going back in mid October.

I may be going here this weekend - any idea on what games are currently being spread? I assume 1-3 and 2-5 NLH - any PLO or HORSE? I'd like to play something non-hold'em if possible.

Also, any idea on the avg runners of the weekend tournaments?

I was there a couple of weekends ago on a Saturday night and there was one 2-5 NL, about three or four 1-3 NL and about three or four 4-8. I think I remember there being a list for PLO but it was only like 3 deep. They may spread O 8/B but i think it's only on certain days during the week.

I didn't start playing till kind of late so I'm not sure how many people started the tournament but when I was there a few months back during a Saturday it looked like they had 80-100 in the tournament.

I made the trip there this weekend when L'auberge didn't have a 1/3 game running..(apparently they hardly every do). They had about 4 1/3 games going and 1 2/5 on Saturday. The Saturday Deepstack tournament kicked off at 2 and I believe they had around 70 entrants while the cash games kept going. I will definitely be heading back there soon as it is by far the closest casino spreading 1/3 from Houston.

Also, I heard the Friday and Saturday tournaments have been modified so that the structure is better to attract more players.

L'auberge had 1 1-3 NL game on Saturday and 5 2-5 NL games on Saturday. The list was plenty deep for 2-5NL.

Any recent trip reports? I went last year and was quickly run out of the poker room by all the cigarette smoke drifting in from the main floor.

Current Bad Beat = ~$71,940, Quad 5'd beaten

Poker Room moved to present location with 10 Tables since last post.
Non smoking

Still playing 4/8 with 1/2 Blinds

No Cap - on the 1/3 Buy In. Looks like average buy in is ~$500 ish....

Usually get one or two tables of 1/3 during the day and maybe 3 or 4 on weekends.

We are going this next weekend, for the Promo - see below. I imagine the Poker Room will be busier and games will be good.
