They jump up and down screaming with joy when they suck out with a two outer on the river, like they've won the WSOP. Too much TV. I told one guy to settle down so we could count the chips and he tried to beat me up...well, his friends held him back...which was a good thing ;-)

How do you want to measure "juicy"? If you have the skills to cope with the non-standard game conditions at commerce, each limit stake is softer than anywhere else I've ever been (though HG is in the running for 4/8). Is "juicy" best winrate? 20/40, if you can beat $1/2 online. Best BB/100 rate? 3/6 or 4/8 kill, at over 1BB/hr. Best winrate to variance ratio? 4/8 Stud.

And as to the other raging question...yes the $4-8 with $5 drop and $1 jackpot drop is unbeatable.

Ok, but food's free so what's the problem? What exactly are people using the cards for, at least those that are in free-food games already? I know I give them my card when I order, they give it back with my free food, but from what I can tell there's no charge placed against whatever my account is.

I thought that was hilarious. I already wasn't using my players card because they didn't give cash, and I couldn't see what the money would be good for since food is already free, but giving $0.25/hr is pretty much just an insult.

It's not that I think a rewards card that pays well is a good idea (it's pretty much a nit-attractor), but it's clear that Commerce management doesn't have a clue what they're doing.

i played yest. 20 with no card, floorman asked me if i wanted one i said no. i ordered food and the server didn't ask me for a card and my food was comped. so i guess policy has changed that you have to show a card to get free meal service.

Sometimes they ask for the card, sometimes they don't, sometimes they ask to see ID, sometimes they don't, sometimes they make you sign the receipt, sometimes they don't. They're just fantastic with procedure there.

Slight digression, but this kind of fits: I've ordered a martini at that new bar three times now. Each time it has been served in a different type of glass. I guess they get confused when someone orders something other than Bud Light.

Anytime I'm up in LA, I try to stop here. the $40nl game is pretty awesome until you're inevitably seated next to a guy who's breath smells like rotten kimchee and he INSISTS on talking to you directly into your nose. That might just be me though.

It also helps to know a few Vietnamese insults so you can trade barbs with the guys who call you "white devil" after a bad beat.

Well, there were rumors they were going to open the rewards program to the spa, but that never fell through. They did open it to the restaurant they have in the hotel which is somewhat decent but overpriced. I mean c'mon, 5+1 a flop is brutal enough, now they diminish their rewards card by 75%.

Can someone do the math as far as how much rake back you would make assuming you are playing somewhat well, seeing about 35 hands/hour getting the standerd 33% RB.

If you're talking about any of the games that are $5+1, which is a good bunch of them, it costs about $20 a head per hour to sit and play, with $4 of that feeding the jackpot. Does that answer the question?

So the other night I'm racking up 4k in chips at the 500 NL game when the floorman comes by to tell me good job and pats me on the back and he keeps standing there like I'm supposed to toss a cpl $5 chips his way. I don't mind taking care of floormen when they run their games well, run for chips, facilitate a tbl change, or give me a heads-up on softer-looking games, but this floorman wasn't the one that seated me nor had I ever talked to him before in my life. As I'm cashing out he's talking with one of the other floormen and keeps glancing over at me as if I was supposed to give him a handout. Then I notice over the next few nights this same floorman "making his rounds" with the 500 NL regulars who are playing and they immediately shake his hand with 1-5 $5 chips for him to pocket. No great appreciation from the floorman just a casual thank you, again as if he were expecting this handout. Could someone pls explain what this is all about?

Floormen make in the neighborhood of <$20/hr salary in L.A, (that's probably the reason they generally suck) so they hustle tips. Sounds like this guy was pretty shameless. I've had the bespectacled caucasian dude do the same to me once when i hit big. Good job blowing him off.

The problem with blowing off floormen who want tips is that many of them really do favor regulars who tip them in their rulings. (Indeed, if I were on a state gambling commission, I would make tipping the floorman illegal-- you aren't allowed to tip the stewards when you go to the racetrack in the hopes that they will rule your way on a disqualification.)

Under the current system, if you play at a place regularly, you need to develop the reputation as a decent (but not ridiculous) tipper.

my freinds tell me of games at commerce tht are NL400 and NL600. where the BI is 400 or 600 only and its 5/10 and 10/20 and the games are crazy and could be easy to make money.
