Re: Commerce Casino (Los Angeles, CA) Poker Thread

Niting it up in the commerce 5/10 400 buy in game due to stack size and cold deck. Eventually win a hand against maniac asian reg who tehn goes on a tirade telling me how bad it is to play tight like I do in this game, and that I will never be a winner. "This game is so loose, you have to gamble it up because your AA will be cracked so many times". Pretty much all the old guys at the table jump into the convo and start discussing how in a loose game you have to gamble it up and start playing lots of hands because waiting for premium hands will get them just cracked"

I was very confused at the end of the night;(

same card for tourney and cash games. They need your card still to track who is getting food. Some guy at my table decided to pay for his food instead of getting a card. The floorman even offered to get it for him as long as he provides an id. Also, replacing IDs are free. I've replaced several

wtf i thought it was only the 5/10 $500-$1500 game and up that got comped food. I ordered a pepsi playing the 5/10 $400 and the lady charged me for it.

$600 minimum (no maximum) buy-in with $10/$20 blinds.

or $500-$1500 $5/$10 for practice

I assure you it's supposed to be free. Did you mistakenly order from a porter instead of a server? That can open up a whole can of confusion.

can someone comment as to why the max buyin for 1-2 is $40?
and assuming you play 6 hours of 1-2, how much would that equal in food comps?

Fight At The Commerce

was anybody else there to witness this? chips and fists were flying and that wasn't the safest feeling to be so close to where the action took place. a white guy and asian guy just went at it and i want to know why it took so long for security to respond?

What game limit did this happen at?

Security are usually posted in far outlying areas, so it takes them a while to get anywhere.

Why didn't you feel safe in a huge casino when only 2 guys were fighting? You can just walk away if you're in the middle of it. Except if chips were flying, don't walk too far, lol.

Re: Commerce Casino (Los Angeles, CA) Poker Thread

how are commerce's limit hold em games? what stakes are the juiciest/hardest? how often are the easiest games running? quick or slow pace? is it most profitable during peak hours or off peak?

thanks in advance

Good! I usually play limit there.

2/4
3/6
3/6 kill
4/8
4/8 kill
8/16 kill
20/40

And up

8/16 is where you will find me. Lots of action. But any limit game gets more action generally

how good are the 4/8 and 8/16 kill games as juicy as they might seem?

Re: Commerce Casino (Los Angeles, CA) Poker Thread

I played there a couple of weeks ago when I was visiting Disneyland with the fam. I wanted to check it out and play a little NLHE. I was pretty disappointed at the game structures offered. $1-2 with $40 buy in? $2-3 with $100 buy in, or $3-5 with $200 buy in??? Why heck won't they spread a game that isn't an all-in fest? most good players want a game with a max buy in bigger than 20 or 40 bb. Let people play deep! But at least I got to see the famous Commerce.

Start where you feel comfortable...

I'd give the 4/8 Kill a shot first...

The 8/16 is a fairly different game, though a lot of people that are running bad will sometimes sit at 4/8 for a while then go back to 8/16...

lots of regs in 8/16, but could be a fun game...

you will be one of the youngest people playing 8/16... so they will try to put the moves on you (which is a good thing)

good question...

not sure what you would use as a referance to BR for FL...

my guess... at least 100 BB (Big Bets)??

so for 4/8 = $800?

Fixed limit bankrolls are usually recommended at 300-500BB's. But I don't know how you bankroll for a game that might be unbeatable due to the rake (like the 4/8)....that would be budgeting, not bankroll.

Re: Commerce Casino (Los Angeles, CA) Poker Thread

you really think 4/8 un beatable because of a $5 total rake?

Pots are generally bigger than $100 NL pots in a 4/8 game especially during a kill pot...
