I'm pretty sure they don't have a poker room rate but I could be wrong never stayed there. 5/5 and 5/10 runs 24/7. I don't think they have 5card plo.

Where in Europe are you visiting from? Make sure to visit places other than the casino.

They do (or at least did) have a poker room rate, but it was often the same as, or even higher than, the general rate you could get from the website. Not sure I if either is still true unfortunately, been a few years for me. But you can call and ask.

They have specials on rooms through their app, but it's still pretty expensive. I stay at the nearby Best Western often. It's quieter, cheaper, has free breakfast, and is just as nice. No safe in the rooms though

Thanks for the tips. Best western is a solid choice. Any other decent poker rooms with hotel? I will not be playing too much, normal 2-3h that the kid and wife want to sleep more then I do.

The commerce hotel is convenient if you're playing poker, but it's loud and the rooms are pretty crappy. Even the nicer top floor rooms have those door dividers between rooms and you can hear conversations from the people next door. I wouldn't bring my family there. There's a Doubletree next door that I've never stayed at, but it's probably a good choice. There's an outlet mall right there too.

The bicycle has a hotel, but I've never stayed there. If you really want to play 5/10 in the morning, then Commerce is your only choice. Even there the game sometimes doesn't go between like 7am-10am. 5-5 is always going.

Hollywood Park doesn't have a hotel, but it's near LAX so lots of hotels around, and is close to the LA stuff that you would want to do with your family. 5/10 starts around noon. 5/5 goes earlier in the morning

The Bike hotel looks nice. For somereason my brain has always figured Commerce to be the only spot in LA, maybe news about tourneys there reaches further. I think I will book the Bicycle hotel for couple of nights. I most likely will be playing at night when the kid is going to sleep early and wife is watching tiktok so games I guess will be plenty. ty for the advice

The Bike and Commerce are about a 10 min drive apart if you want to try both.

Bike hotel is way nicer than commerce (much newer and more amenities). I also find the Bike more pleasant as a whole, nicer cleaner more relaxed. I like the microbrewery. And I like the action though I mostly played limited hold em (8-16, 20-40, 12-24 mix). But looking on poker atlas they have a lot of no limit including 5-5 and higher. Check out poker atlas some random nights to see what no limit they have. As previous poster said, commerce and Bike are a close drive to each other so can easily play both.

Every other place in LA County is nicer than Commerce. Except I never went to the Crystal Casino in Compton, not sure if that place is still open.

Here for the first time. Enjoying it but a new experience.

Weird that 25 purples don't play in 5 5 NL but white 100s do lol.

Good room though

$2 preflop drop is brutal. Games are super juicy though so probably evens out.

I haven't played in LA in a while but my impression was that this is not just a small sample. Do they still do the "lobbying fee" where the dealer takes out the big blind automatically the second time you miss it?

I believe so, the buttons they had said "missed ONE big blind" so assume there's a tax afterwards, but I didn't see it happen, people miraculously came back just in time. So annoying

Even though they were the worst players at the table I suspect hourly is better with a slightly less bad player there all the time lol.

I havent been here in over 5 years but it always amazes me that in 5/10 nl only yellow and whites played. And some people would buy in with 1500 in yellows.

Going to Commerce and want to take a shot in a higher LHE game than 40/80 (I'm from east coast so highest that used to get going was the 80 at the borg but that seems dead now). Point is I can already play 40 around here at Parx and Borg so I want to go higher. I've been a winner at 20 and 40 at Borg/MD Live/MGM/Parx. Want to take a true shot with about 6k. Which game would you all recommend? Also I can only go on Tues, Wed, or Thurs so only games on those days. I'm only able to go one night, and if the game is good enough, I'd be fine just buyin in 30 BB at a 100 game and taking a shot. This isn't anywhere near my entire roll, just want to take a true shot at higher limits while I'm there. Suggestions?

Euro invasion is the worst I’ve seen since Covid these 5/10 games have to rival Vegas as the worst in the country.

Even the 5/5 at Commerce is a reg infested nitfest. I've played a lot of places and I'd say the game quality, general clientele attitude, and overall feel make it among the worst rooms in the country.

It’s a continent of nits without a real middle class with disposable incomes, they have always tried to leech off of the US and it will only get worse as the economies gets worse over there. The funniest thing is when the euros that do talk, all complain about tipping at restaurants and how they have better healthcare over in euroland (awful table talk) then some clueless American asks about the poker in Europe and I say it’s double the rake and 10 times as tight and the euros just nod.

If the euros had any soft skills at all they would talk about their red light districts ffs and how cheap the hottest working women are compared to the US, that’s what American fish want to hear.

What I don’t understand is why the American regs are so welcoming and friendly to the euro groups. If they cared at all about the longevity of the pool or keeping the games beatable and enjoyable for recs they should let euros know they are not welcomed here

Maybe if you take money out of the games, people shouldn't be welcoming and friendly with you either.
