New rule regarding your 2nd missed blind (high stakes area, no idea at low stakes), they take 5$/round while you miss your blinds.
In the beginning I had no idea if it's good or bad. While you definitely can go to the bathroom or smoke for one round, doing both and/or grabbing a drink can become close. I understand that people hate it when it's 4-5 people standing around being scared at playing shorthanded without a *gasp* jackpot, so it's important to keep things going.
But in the end it has developed into an argue-fest with the dealer, "no, I was eating, I was here the whole time!", "no, why do I miss my 2nd blind if I move into the blinds?", "what are you doing? WFT is this ****, I don't understand!". People are now sitting out one round out of spite and it's hella annoying the squabbles over 5$.
I left on Saturday after this obnoxious specimen argued about 10 minutes(!) with the floorman whether she HAD to take the blind or not. Jeez, she's there, just take the ****ing blind!

do they rake per hand upstairs? 5 dollars a round seems ridiculous.

No idea, perhaps other regs can chime in. Just know of 20/40 and 40/80 LHE.

It's a time charge on that side of the room.

Is that $5 per round penalty given back to the players by putting it dead in the (next or current) pot? Or is taken for the house drop? And this applies to only the "hotel side", so we're talking about $600NL uncapped and the $2,000NL uncapped.

Or does this $5 penalty apply to the $400NL and the $500-$1,500NL games as well?

i don't know if its been mentioned here but you can check in at 7am and get the room for something like a total of 30-31 hours. So what I would do is play all night check in then crash till mid afternoon, put in anther session crash in room again, then play one more session before i left. Max ev imo

Last time I played 40/80 they were dropping 5+1, but that was a few months ago.

I don't want to think about the stupidity of the $5 missed blind charge bella discussed. Why don't they install pay toilets while they are at it?

heh! The 20/40 and 40/80 are on the "high" stakes area of the casino. They are towards the carnival games and not tucked away in the corner like the proper high stakes 20/40+NL, 200/400+ mixed.
You know I'm just there for the free food, right?

As far as I know, the $5 lobby fee is added to the pot the 2nd time the button passes their missed blind, commerce doesn't take any of it. It's to keep the action going, and only applies to 20/40 and 40/80 limit hold'em where games take breaks every 10 minutes.

A good brawl broke out late Friday night at one of the 5/10 500+ buyin tables. One guy went straigth after this guy while the other guy just tried to not fight back. Took 4 guys to septerate the meathead and the floor manager got knocked to the ground along with a player that was inbetween the two.

Not sure what the fight was about. The attacker had his girlfriend sitting behind him, which is always inviting trouble. I was in the middle of the hand when it broke out. Security was *VERY* slow to respond but eventually they came in.

First time I've seen a full on fight in a poker room, but I've barely played at Commerce.

Yes, it's put in the pot.

It's only taken on the button after someone misses their blinds the second time through. Honestly, I think the rule is great. It keeps the game going when multiple people would rather sit one round then get up and smoke and play casino games on the other side of the floor for 30 minutes at a time. There's an easy 15 minute window to do whatever you want, and if you really need to be away from the table for 30 minutes I think $10 into the pot is a tiny token to pay for the inconvenience of tying up a seat someone else would gladly be playing at.

Technically after 30 minutes they could rack you up, but this does seem like a good in-between solution to the walker problem since racking up is a PITA and meaningless anyway when there's no board. I like it.

I've been there before when a dude went across the table to fight someone. Same deal, security took forever to come over. I asked about it later, and the guy said they usually let the two guys fighting wear themselves out a little before they try to break it up.

lulz.

Nope, I wasn't there. Description of security taking forever to show up confirms to me that it happened though.
