The food is pretty delicious at Gardens. I’d recommend the Korean Lunch Box or the just the Boneless Galbi or the Lobster Ravoli. Also if you play in the main room and ask the floor they will uber you back to your Disneyland area hotel for free. Hope you have a nice trip with the family man.

Thanks for the great tips I will definitely take your advice... will play the 3/5 for sure (your 2/3 scenario of playing 3 other guys for $5 when $3 of it is yours definitely sucks)

I love to try different foods and theres no chance for me to get Korean food anywhere near where I live so I'm excited to try your food choices as well.

Thanks again for the advice you've made my plight of what to do with my free time away from the family and the mouse an easy decision

in other parts of the country, we call it BIG O, and some guys like to go both ways, but usually its just high. its omaha with 5 cards instead of 4. first time ive ever heard of it called 5 card holdup, he probably means holdem.

I think BigO / 5-Card Omaha is different than the 5 Card Hold Up. I haven't played it, but I don't see why they wouldn't call it 5cardO like everywhere else.

Drove an hour to play in a CSPC event. No place to park. Commerce has tiny parking lots relative to the capacity of the casino. Going back home. I forgot how much LA sucks.

?

Commerce has a massive parking lot out back. It’s big enough they have shuttles running around the clock.

There’s also valet.

The “massive” lot out back was completely full, with cars driving around scouting for spots. Didn’t want to use valet.

So because you didn’t want to pay $3 for valet you elected to just turn around and drive home after driving an hour to get there? Really?

Dude, I'd bet you were on the high limit side. Not the HUGE lot on the southern side. That one is a 15 minute walk if you park all the way at the back.

Never been to the commerce before and was just wondering, is it still possible to get the poker room rate at $120 per night? Any info about who to contact, or do I just speak to floor?

used to just ask for player rate when i booked my hotel and they give it to you... its gone up to 149$ on weekends last time i was there i think though and ended up like 180 with tax so check it before you book as it was often cheaper through booking sites then the poker rate.

Does the commerce have a big game comparable to what goes on in Bobby's room in the Bellagio?

Is there regular high stakes mixed games happening

Last time I played that it was 5/10 NL, but that was long ago. Is it a high-stakes mixed game now?

Someone else could probably answer that. I don't know. You might want to call and ask Friday night.

Whats the rake at PLO Hi and NLHE 5/5 and higher? Wanna see whats more profitable. There are points you can convert later to cash?

I'm pretty sure the PLO game is more profitable for a good player just because the caliber of play is pretty low compared to NL at Commerce. The rake is the same afaik, I'm pretty sure it's $5 on the flop plus an extra $1 on the turn. The NL game also has a jackpot with $1 drop every hand and the PLO game doesn't have a jackpot so no drop. No flop the rake is $2.

You don't get points you can convert to cash. You get $1/hour at 5/5 NL and $3/hour at 5/10NL+ which I think might include the 5/5PLO game that can be used on food service, the gift shop, massages, and I think the hotel. You get player points for a VIP system that has 3 tiers, club, platinum and elite. And they have a freeroll tournament each year for the top two tiers and a yearly gift too. But it requires a lot of play to get out of the club level.
