Do you see the flaw in your logic? They have the most action in LA (by FAR) with the short buyins. It is reasonable to extrapolate that if they allowed deeper buyins the games would nit up just like they do at the Bike and the fish would get chased away. Obviously the system is doing what they want it to do. Fish like to buy in short and don't want to see big stacks on the table.

But please let's not rehash this tired old argument. If you want to play 100bb either start playing 5/10 or just go to the Bike with the rest of the nits.
lol i just read the first 30 pages to get the scoop on commerce and you're right...i saw at least 4 instances just within those 30 pages.

They don't even get 5/10 everyday anymore.

That's because 5/5 is a $1000 max (200BB) buy in.

And if the 5/10 can't still last with that game then how long will the 5/5 last with the fish getting raped 200bbs deep?

FWIW Jamie Gold was playing it a couple of weeks ago.

The fish aren't the ones buying in 200bb. And besides, the 5/10 was hit or miss before they made the 5/5 200bb.

That's neither here nor there and isn't a response to my question.

I guarantee some fish are or were buying in 200bb. That rodent really matter tho...the good regs dont gave to grind up a 200bb stack to be deep with the fish, they can just buy in for it and wait for the fish to make mistakes.

There's no money in 200BB 5/5. Everyone's solid.

Does Commerce ever spread low limit HORSE games? I've never bothered to walk over and look at the games running when there. Wouldn't mind working on my mixed games.

They have a couple tables of 4/8 O8. I've never played any stud, but there's like 1-2 tables right next to the omaha.

Commerce has screwy buy-ins in the NL games. I know the 200 game is a 3/5 game and the 400 game is a 5/10 game. I don't know about the others. But don't assume anything other than the bigger games are 100bb+ deep.

40-0 NL is the 40 max buyin for 1/2?
Yes.

Quote:
200-0NL is the 3/5NL game with 200 max buyin?
Yes.

Also if these are the max buyins, what is the minimum? Or can you only play 40-0NL with 40 buyin and 200-0NL with 200 and not any other number?
Correct. (Although you can rebuy for 1 1/2 times the initial buy-in.)

What is 500-0NL and 400-0NL?
Don't know about the 500. But 400NL is the 5/10 game.

By the way, at least one thing on that list is wrong. 8/16 limit is played with a 1/2 kill at Commerce.

500 is the 5/10NL $500-$1500 game. It's the smallest game at Commerce in which you can buy in for 100bb or more.

First (and last) visit to Commerce this past Wednesday. What a dump !! If there was a surface it was either littered or sticky, 4 of my 8 dealers could not or would not take even a modicum of control over the 2-5 nlhe game (is there a state regulation that makes it acrime to announce how many players are in for the flop?)' angleshooting galore ( my fave - a bettor calling raise but not stating amount then holding a stack of chips over the table, dropping 8, stacking them neatly then adding 4 more on top - reason this was allowed by dealer...."he say raise"....). I could go on but what's the point. One more confirmation of some of the themes I've picked up over the 78 pages in this thread.

Does anyone know how commute would be from the Pasadena (CalTech) area? Google Maps says only 23 minutes, but I'm sure that would be only with absolutely no traffic.

The route would be down the Pasadena Freeway to I-5, which you would then have to thread through the complicated interchange with the Santa Monica and San Bernadino freeways. This can be horrible in heavy traffic. It can range from the quoted 23 minutes to an hour or more.

Yes, that would be at dead of night. Peak traffic time it would be an hour and fifteen minutes, so adjust in that range for other times. Medium traffic would be 45 minutes.

How about Long Beach to Commerce it says that without traffic it would be about 23 minutes as well, straight shot on 710...also what times of day would the traffic die down going northbound and southbound on 710

The 710 doesn't go straight to Commerce, it goes to the Bike. For Commerce you need to get to the 5. Long Beach is a big city, so there will be a range of drive times and routes.

And in general, traffic dies down in LA between 3AM and 3:15AM.

Either way it seems like long beach > southbay in terms of getting to the commerce, would that be a correct statement? also 710 >405 in terms of less traffic?

im curious as well, considering heading to culver city and google maps has it as a 30 minute drive to Bike/Commerce. That seems too good to be true? I've had way too many drives on the 10 at "safe hours" where it just gridlocks.
