Tank 1 2 was pretty good last night. Ran hotter than the sun luckily.

Looks like The Tank had another good series they just completed and Columbus is being repped by quite a few players in LV at the series. What else is going on in the world of poker in central Ohio.

Moving to Columbus in 3 weeks. Is the poker scene as grim as bravo seems to indicate? How frequently does PLO run and is how regular is the HORSE game at the Shark Tank? Lastly and of least interest to me, how are the no limit games? Thanks for the input, everyone

HORSE runs Wednesday and Sunday nights at the Tank. It's $8/16 and it usually has a table going by 7 or 8pm and often runs until closing at 4am.

They also just started Thursday afternoons starting at 1pm a $6/12 Limit Holdem game. Only a few people came out scattered throughout the afternoon this last Thursday so the game didn't get off, but there hasn't really been any advertising or even much word of mouth about it. I expect it to be a Go this Thursday (but don't sue me if it doesn't get enough players). I haven't seen PLO at the Tank in weeks, unfortunately.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer them openly and honestly.

Thanks for the input. Definitely looking forward to being able to play some mixed games for a change. Any chance PLO runs at the casino with an regularity? How are the no limit games at the tank vs the casino? Any chance of a 20/40 mixed game or O8 game popping up anywhere?

There are always the few vocal people about trying to get O8 started at the casino from time to time, but anytime I've ever seen it run, it's 4/8 and lasts for a few hours. Then another 3 months go by before we see that repeat... Shame really.

As for the cash games at the Tank, it's definitely slowed down more than I'd like but when it gets going, it's been pretty soft and it's usually fairly deep. I left at about 1am last night after the tournament ended and there were several loose players with $500-1000 in front of them and there were 3 people on the list. I hope it can get back to the days where there are at least two or three tables going on the weekends. I think the only reason they don't always have a game running is the uncertainty that there will be a game running. If everyone just came out like they used to, there'd always be a game. It's like throwing a party. No one wants to go if they're not 100% sure everyone else is going. The problem is that no one wants to be one of the first 4 people to show up and have it cancelled due to lack of attendance.

In general, how difficult is hollywood's Sat $10K? Solid field? Soft Field? Shark Tank and/Gemini are more difficult or easier?

I haven't played @ Gemini in years.

Tank is probably slightly tougher than HW. Neither are super tough.

From what I understand, the Gemini is no longer there. I believe it was bought out and the owner(s?) moved north a bit. Delaware maybe?

You're right. I just never bothered to look it up on a map. That's considerably farther than Delaware

As it happens, at the end of the month, I'm visiting Sidney, OH and Toledo, OH over the course of a week on business.

- How long would it take me o get from Sidney to the Columbus and (I assume there is one) Cincinnati casinos?
- Thoughts on my visiting either? Call-ahead-to-get-on-list rules? Things I should know? I'll be limiting myself to some 1/2 and 2/5 NL play, LHE if they have it, and will be playing on weeknights. What action can I expect?

I'll also be visiting Hollywood Toledo when I'm there, of course.

Any info you guys want to throw at a newbie is most appreciated.

Check the Bravo App. Call ahead for 1-2 and 2-5 @ Cbus. Don't play any limit.

Just wanted to mention that I played in Columbus for the first time on Sunday night. Called ahead and for the 1/2PLO interest list and 1/2NL about 30 minutes before I got there. When I checked in I was at the top of the 1/2NL list and the PLO list was still an interest list. This was around 9pm on Sunday night and even though the list was fairly old the floor decided to go ahead and open the PLO table - which I was cool with.

They dealt it 4 and 5 handed until I left around 1:45am and I think the table likely broke shortly after. I think a lot of rooms would've refused to open the table that short so props to them if they read this. They let us have reduced rake of course $4 max and the dealers were happy because pots were regularly $40-$50+ and they were being tipped well.

I'm heading out to the Borgata on Wednesday for a few days. Anyone from Columbus making the trip out?

Staying at Harrah's, 3 nights for $39.

Yeah three nights free, $39 in "resort fees". Must be easy to get comped there, we almost never gamble outside poker. Stay there and play at Borgata.

I just cashed $2k in a survivor tourney, woot!
