The legality of these clubs has always been a gray area subject to interpretation. Some jurisdictions such as Columbus have tacitly allowed them to operate while others such as Dayton have shut them down. The rumor I heard is that the police have informed the Columbus clubs that they can continue to operate until the casino opens, but if they don't close before then they'll be raided and shut down. I heard this from a dealer at the Hollywood in Indiana who claims to have heard it from the owner of the Gemini himself.

Does anyone know if the casino is still on track to open on time in the fall?

Even if all of the fish are at the casino and only the sharks are left at Gemini?

Casino will be super soft but the dealers are going to be horrible at first . Don't expect the clubs to be able to go toe-to-toe with the casino. Maybe Gemini and Nicks focus more on tourneys and can stay afloat for awhile.

I"d be shocked if the casino doesn't push them out legally pretty quickly.

I don't disagree. By a "little while" I was thinking 6 months before they close. You taking the under?

Under. What will be the incentive for cash players once the casino comes? The goal will be to extract $$$ from bad players, bad players will likely flock in the casino until they flush their rolls.

Hey guys. I'm staying in Grove City on Wednesday night, are there any rooms still open near there or is my best chance for cash game action still Nick's or Gemini?

Nicks or Gemini would probably be your best bet. Bicycle has 5-10 Limit Horse on Weds night as well

It just outside Westerville (nicer suburb) in Huber Ridge which is pretty middle class (my mom grew up there) and I've never had a problem.

Nicer area than Gemini and about the same as Nicks in terms of neighborhood.

Could not find the Bicycle Club. Unless it is inside a different establishment, I saw no signs for it or anything resembling a poker room. So I went to Nicks. Nice enough room. Plenty of tables running at 9 pm. Started a new table. Paid my $20. Lost $500. Got three-bet like crazy preflop. Are games always that aggressive there? Saw very little limping which is what I usually expect at 1/2.

Gemini has a twitter account now. Hopefully it doesn't fizzle out in terms of giving info about games going and events.

It generally plays like a 2/5 or higher once most of the players have 6-900 in front of them. Some nights are tamer than others. A lot of that aggression is misplaced and once you see some showdowns, you learn where you can loosen up.

I'm curious... are Gemini and Shark Tank still running cash games (now that casino is open?). Have they announced plans for the future?

Shark Tank is still open everyday for tournies and cash games. It has been slower than usual this opening week of the casino but still avg of 30+ for nightly tournies and 2-3 cash games/nt.

Really surprised with all the poker action around Columbus and all of Ohio in the past 5 years that this thread is not more active.
Hell the casino is filling nearly 30 tables every night and the Tank and Gemini are still getting daily games and tournaments. And the Diamond club (formerly Bicycle Club) still operating.
Gemini even just announced two freerolls in January for $10k and $20+k.
Currently at Hollywood IN (Lawrenceburg - formerly Argosy) they are running the first HPO event series which will culminate in Las Vegas at the M Resort in 2013.
Belterra is even getting into the act with that corporations newly acquired Heartland Poker Tour (HPT).

Where is everyone playing or planning to play???

More cash at the Tank please. I don't like paying $7 per hand.
