Does anyone know the numbers they got at the Gates for the 1100 buy in main event of the "colorado poker championships"? Since the 500 buy in at the isle got 9 runners just wonder if the main event had a big draw.

Thanks in advance

I will be at Isle on Thursday and we will see if it will go. What kind off rake and comps would you offer for that game? 4$ rake and good comps might lure some GG regs. Can you put some poster for that game in the room? Some special promos, I will try to get some extra players.

We are $4 max rake on every game, everyday. Comps are $2/hr and if we do it on Thursdays you can get a free room after 6 hours play or a $29 rate after 2 hours play.

Matt,

Thanks for coming in here and working so hard to make your poker room about what poker players want. You're doing a great job. I have only been to your room once so far but I thought it was nice and will be back. I was wondering if you had a schedule for your tournaments online somewhere that I could look at as well as the blind structure for them? (if you have started tournaments and all that stuff yet)

Thanks

Both questions have been answered in this thread. Not sure about looking at them online, but schedule and structure ITT.

Structure looks great. I haven't played up there in awhile due to poor mtt structures, but will be frequenting these often. Thanks for listening to the players & keep up the good work!

Do you plan on running satellites throughout the week to the saturday 10k? seems like it could easily bring bigger player pools

Hey Matt,

Will your Friday afternoon tourney have 20 or 30 minute levels? Thanks!

imo, this is the only scenario in which soft play is acceptable.

only their $ was in the pot so who cares? it might as well have been chopping. that situation would NOT have been okay if any other player had $ in the pot.

We could. We'll have to look at what the tournament brings out to begin with and what our staffing levels are.

Hey Matt,
I dont know if anyones with me with this one, but I think you should run WSOP satelites for 1000, 1500, and maybe the ME. The lodge has a pretty sorry satelite (but they do give it for free). I think if you had a 150-300 buyin to these events that could be a good marketing stratagy to get people in there. Run them around the clock, if they show up cool, if not no loss for you. But I think having the WSOP name would bring players. you could run sit & go's, for 200+15 then 1st gets 1500 and second gets 500. And have a 300 weekend to go along with your other weekend tourneys that give 2k packages which buy you into 1500 event plus 500 for travel and lodge. 6.5 to 1 are good odds and motivation to go to your casino and las vegas. I really think that for some printing cost it would easly pay off having traffic come through your poker room and casino. No casino offers anything like it in blackhawk and and when people drive up and see the wsop logo they will stop. serious player and not, that is a well known logo.
Let me know what you think?

I appreciate your suggestions but the simple fact with WSOP is that the only "Official" satellites you can run is for the ME. That's the only way you can use their official logo. Also, the stipulations on how we can run things as a third party are so restrictive that the satellites are not worth doing. I get what you're saying and I agree that WSOP is a big draw, but we can't run official satellites to the smaller events...I've already asked them. We are planning to host our own WPT Regional Event and we will definitely run satellites for that. I do want you to know that I appreciate your suggestions. The WSOP and the contract stipulations to use their logo are just not for us.

Best,
Matt

I'm surprised Black Hawk doesn't have more fixed limit games running. For so many years it was all $2/$5 limit before the regulations were softened. $4/$8 is ok, but I'd really like to see a few more levels between that and the $30/$60 game. If there's a regular game at Golden Gates or Lodge or elsewhere that I'm just unaware of please let me know.

10/20 Omaha 8 at Isle today.
We could ask to start a rotation holdem/Omaha 8 game 10/20 too.
I don't think that anybody wants( maybe the casinos) to have any smaller limits than 10/20 because at lower levels it is almost impossible;e to beat the rake.

Black Hawk is closest.

There are a few bus companies that run up here. Ask the hotel front desk and they'll hook you up with a schedule I'm sure.

You'll find tournaments at the Lodge, Golden Gates and Lady Luck. All are within walking distance of each other in Black Hawk.

You'll find the most games at Ameristar.
