I really liked the isle room, but there were def issues with the latter points there too, get your dealers to speak up about the rules and enforce them Matt, especially once you are running tourneys.
Our dealers are becomming stronger everyday, and we are definitely addressing inconsistencies in they way they enforce the rules as those arise. The basic fact is, we have a set of poker room rules. We give that to the dealers, we go over them, and we say, "these are the rules for the room." It takes constant coaching and training for new dealers to become familiar with all of them and their application. I wish we could just load it in there like software, but it doesn't work that way.

I certainly appreciate the feedback and please know that we continue to work on refining every aspect of the operation of our room.

Best,
Matt

I understand the room is new Matt, so I just wanted to give some feedback, as far as atmosphere and attitude it's my favorite room down here, so I'd hate to see it end up like the gates on those issues.

With how responsive you've been to the players I'm pretty confident the room will grow nicely once the greener dealers get better.

apparently soft play is allowed. a dealer told me this recently after i witnessed 2 asians in a $10 2/5 hand (they were in the blinds). they checked it to the river, and one of em shows the nuts..

seriously? checking it down bvb is hardly soft playing...

especially when gaming does not allow chopping, even bvb.

find something legit to nit rant about.

We've been having 2-3 games through the afternoon and evening during the week. Weekday overnight game has generally been running until between 5am-7am. Had 9 games on Satuday night and 7 on Friday. It's getting busier all the time. Glad you're both coming up.

Best,
Matt

The $60+$60+$60 at Gates had 9-10 tables last night. If you did all the rebuys up front, you started out with 20k in chips. Starting blinds were 25-50 with 20 minute levels and a very fast structure. By level 9 we were up to 1k-2k.

It's still all spread-limit, though? No FLHE? I called in and started an interest list for $8/16 and $10/20 on Saturday, but never heard back. Did the list ever even grow past just my name?

A 4/8 half kill game ran around 6pm Friday, filled to 9 players by 7pm, and broke around 2am.

Tournament structure at Isle looks pretty good to me. I'm heading up for the first time in a while tomorrow and will check the room out.

Do all the tables have auto shufflers? If not, I'd agree with stretching the blinds to 30 minutes and adding the 1,500/3,000 level. Otherwise, I'm fine with it.

Well done Matt.

All tables have shufflers, but we're going to go ahead and go to 30 minutes and add the 1500-3000 limit beginning with the tournaments in June. These first two this weekend will be 20 minute limits and w/o the 1500-3000 limit.

Best,
Matt

All of our events will allow people to buy in until the end of the first limit. So in the case of this Saturday, by 12:20pm. For Sunday's charity event with Slacker and Steve, 2:20pm.

Beginning in June it would be by 2:30pm for the Friday tournaments and by 12:30pm for the Saturday $10K Guarantee.

Best,
Matt

The fact that you are open to input and respond affirmatively to player input suggests your room will be a successfuly one. Well done man.

+1

The room is great and I'm glad it's getting busier. The 4/8 FL 1/2 kill game my friends and I started Friday was one of the most fun and social games I've ever played.

You keep posting about how the tournament this Saturday (that will likely last 7-8 hours with 3-4 tables) is a "turbo" event. You have yet to express your opinion about the changes we made for the ongoing $10K Guarantee Saturday tournaments that start in June. These are 30 minute limits with up to $20K in starting chips, and the 1500/3000 limit included.

My concern is that you keep criticizing a structure that we are going to run 1 time and that we made changes to, in part, due to your own suggestions on this forum. As often as possible, we like to make decisions in our poker room that are good for the players. I believe that the changes we made to the tournament structure (again, after the suggestions of you and others here have made) are extremely player friendly and show our determination to become "the player's poker room" in Black Hawk.

Not worries, but just looking for a "fair shake" when we do things in response to your concerns. Also, next time you're up, say hi. I'm in the poker room Tues-Sat and sometimes a 6th day on either Sun or Mon. Always happy to sit down and talk with players that want our room to be better...that's what we want too.

Best,
Matt

The wife and I went up for our first overnight trip on Tuesday night and had a great time. The room was pretty busy with 3 or 4 1/2-100 games that were incredible. We routinely had $300-$400 pots at our table and had one $650. The table next to us had a few $600+ and a $1200 pot as well. Very good action and the dealers are definitely much improved (at least on the swing/evening shifts). We got our $29 room rate w/o any issue whatsoever.

I'm really, really glad to see the action picking up and hope that it becomes the #1 room in town as Matt & Co. are busting their tails and listening to the players. Honestly, I've never seen a room so open to suggestions. Big thumbup there!

When we got up on Wed. and checked out of our room (around noon or so) there wasn't a game going, but we started one, playing 4 handed. Within 30 mins we had it 8 handed, so that was great.

The Aces cracked promo makes for some really dumb ****, though. In the span of 2 hours, there were pocket Aces cracked three times, thanks to people limping in and, in two of the cases, checking down their Aces, hoping to get snapped. One of the times, there was $6 in the pot at showdown. GB live poker

I'll be back up there on Wed. afternoon.

anyone know what the structure is like for the colorado poker championship at the golden gates? I'm thinking of playing in one but a little worried about the 20minute blind levels

It looks like I should be able to get up there again tomorrow/today (Saturday). Let's see if an 8/16 or 10/20 LHE can get going.
