Enough guys. While I appreciate everyone's opinions, no need to beat a dead horse now that the decision has been made.

Just out of morbid curiosity, is there still that random $500 max bet in Colorado that results in 1/2-500 and 250/500 games?

Ha. Rapini. You jokester, you. It's $100...

It was $5 4-5 years ago now. Yes. Every casino everywhere. $5 max bet everywhere.

Holy ****, I really thought it was $500. Maybe I was thinking of Missouri's old mandatory stop loss per customer per day.

I wish it was $500 (or non-existant, at least for poker). The $100 max bet doesn't have a huge impact on the 1/2 game, but it turns the $2/5 game into a very different, and, IMO inferior game to a $2/$5 no limit. At least it's not still $5. Black Friday would have had me looking for underground games, driving to New Mexico or flying to Vegas a lot, if the $5 limit were still in effect. The old $2-5 and $5/$5 games were not worth playing, IMO.

Well A* did it. According to their blurb on the Bravo app, the A* $4/$8 game is now $1/$2 blinds at all times. It's not a game that I ever played much, except on rare occasions when a seat is open on $4/$8 but not $1/$2-100, but I can't think of a better way to change the game from marginally playable to unplayable. It probably appeals to nitty old men who want a cheap way to pass the time while slowly bleeding off money to the rake, but it's really just a pot-shrinker and action-killer, and renders the game sightly inferior to the $2-10 spread games at Lady Luck and Reserve if you're looking for a small limit game. It means that the only true structured limit game in Blackhawk/Central City that still goes on a regular basis is the A* $30/60, which is beyond my bankroll.

WTF? This is ridiculously terrible. I wasn't happy when they did this during weekdays, but at least then it was going back to normal blinds on the weekends. I hate that the uber-regs, who I'm sure are behind this, are so f'ing ******ed and are able to push this kind of crap.

As a limit holdem purist and action junkie, this makes me very sad. I would looooove to see a 8/16 game that runs daily. Maybe ill see about getting $2 chips back in use and try to run one at Gates. If anyone is interested let me know and ill try to set it up.

I saw on Bravo that they are taking an interest list at the Isle for a weekly $10-$20 limit game starting Sat June 1st. They are even going to pay $5 cash per hr up to $25 per day all month long to try and get some legs under it...

reducing the blinds to $1-2 from $2-4 would certainly make it easier to beat the rake, saving u $3 per orbit, an extra $9 an hour in ur profit at the end of the day. who would complain about this

Confirmed. I played at Astar last night and noticed this. Can't understand why they would waste two tables on this game on a busy Saturday night, the pots were already small and now it won't even be worth defending your blinds, half the pots will never see a flop.

The typical adjustment will be players tightening up and playing closer to correct, thus killing action which is the overlay that overcomes rake and makes a SSLHE game profitable. It may take some time for players to make that adjustment though.

Anybody will play at CPC at Gates. Those daily 130$ 20000 looks like OK structure tourneys. I will try to do 3 or 4 of those next week. Do you think those are good structures?

Blackhawk really needs a LHE game between 4-8 and 30-60. Im surprised that a 8/16 or 10/20 is unable to sustain at gates, isle, and/or lodge. With the $100 max bet, the town should have handfuls of limit games between 4-8 and 50-100. Instead, spread limit games are pushed because people try to identify the game as being 'close enough to no-limit'. 15/30 would be nice as well for when the 30/60 action isn't good (which is rare)

I would kill for a good 8/16 game. Unfortunately (for poker), I'm at a point in my life right now (read: kids) where I can't really get up there enough to make a significant contribution to getting/keeping it running.

I'm thoroughly convinced that there is not an actual market for mid stakes limit holdem in Black Hawk.

Whats the "escalator" event in the CPC? Just a $500 buy in three day NLH tourney? Or is there something different about the structure or format?

I agree with this entire statement. I would love to play in an 8/16 or even 15/30 LHE game.

Each level increases by 5 minutes until you reach 90 minute levels...

This sounds like the opposite of "escalator." Maybe they should call it "de-escalator."

the 30/60 could be the best in the country with 1-4 tables running at all times...what makes you think that there isn't an actual market for mid stakes limit holdem when there is this mistakes game is running at all times? I was just expressing that there needs to be a feeder game for the 30/60 so players can move up. Very rare to see 1-2 spread limit players move up, and when they do, its to play an oddly structured 2-5 spread limit game. Limit games should of been pushed a whole lot harder during the earlier days of when the maximum bet was first increased to $100

1st level is 5 minutes, each level increases by 5 minutes up to Level 18 which is 90 minutes. Levels stay at 90 minutes but the structure sheet mentions "at the discretion of"

Is this event worth playing, or is it sort of a more luck oriented event? It starts off as a hyper-turbo, thinning the field, and then basicly plays out normal after the money? I would love to here imput from anybody who has played this event. Also any geusstimation of how much money may be up top?

I'm going to be out of town for the ME, and can't play any of the other events because of my work schedule. I was thinking about playing in this event, but don't want to enter and then find that it's a crapshoot.

The Escalator was very popular last time and this time it has an even better structure so it should be even bigger.
