We just hit the 2nd bad beat at the lodge yesterday! 5 days after the last one

I made four 9's against a ten high straight flush and won $58,680

Now there's only 1 bad beat left at about $160,000. Hopefully it doesn't hit for awhile or they're going to be in trouble.

So the Bad Beat JP hit twice at the Lodge and once at the Star in the last week... Wow! Nice Holiday $!

Well the HPT has altered the dates for the Spring tournament at the Gates. It's usually in early/mid april but this year it has been changed to the beginning of March.

The only thing I can think of is a conspiracy by the hands of Gates management to undermine the Lodge since the Lodge managed to get a WSOP circuit event in town in Mid/late March, before the HPT was supposed to take place. The advantage for the Lodge in holding the circuit event before the HPT takes place at the Gates was so they would get a bigger turnout with less people being broke from playing the HPT.

I think someone from the Gates found out about the Lodge landing a WSOP stop and they decided to change the dates. The WSOP did have have the Lodge listed on the WSOP circuit schedule for 2012-2013 for a short time but now it's gone. If you look closely, there is a large gap in march with no circuit events taking place and I believe there is when it will be if the Lodge does in fact get the event. They must still be finalizing it.

Does anyone think I could be right?

I received the same offer (4 coupons worth $10 an hour in cash for up to 5 hours played). I've only played there off and on for about a year and hadn't seen this before. Hopefully it brings a few more people into the room.

in other news, i have noticed the volume at the lodge has dropped off SHARPLY since the 2 bad beats have been hit. i foresee a room closure within 1.5 years max. lot of people are going to be crawling over to deathstar and gates begging for jobs. they make even go to isle if desperate enough.

lord willing more people start visiting the lodge and keep the room alive and kicking.

at some point in the next 87 years, before 2100, poker will be non-existent worldwide and we'll have a new game to play for money.

I went to the Isle on New Years Day and played well over 5 hours...and got paid $50 cold hard cash when I was done playing. BAM! The place was busy too... They had 7 games running for most of the time I was there... They even brought out about 12 Pizza's to feed everyone at dinner... FREE!

I had a great time and would have made money even without the coupon. It looks like the Isle is turning it around from all the reports I read about when I first moved here!

In other news, The Bad Beat hit at Lady Luck last night and again at Ameristar!
