Since Ameristar and The Lodge are so close together I'll probably check them both out. I find it surprising that there's such a large gap in the fixed limit games from 4/8 to 30/60. Can't imagine what people do when they're ready to move up from the 4/8 game.

Thanks again!
4/8 is almost unbeatable. Fixes the "what to move up to" problem.

Hey I know this is off topic but I read somewhere that the isle was advertising a stud game on the weekend. Is this true and if so has anyone played it?

It'd be nice to see 12/24 levels (1200/2400, 12k/24k etc..) but other than that it looks like a really good structure and a fantastic one by GG standards. Will def try to satty in. May even just buyin.

Ended up heading out last Sunday for the 3pm satellite. Only 36 people entered in the satellite which was disappointing so ended up with 3 getting entries and 4th $660 cash. Lots of people were in the 12pm (I believe it was 140 which was a $300+ tourney). I ended up in 9th losing out with 99 after hitting a lower end straight on the turn (board of 10 J Q K) to a 1010 when a K hit on the river.

Thanks for the info. I suck at tournaments but I'm impressed with the structure of the CPC main event, so I might take a few shots at the satellites. So there's some dead money for you tournament guys!

Super crazy. All of the underground games I play at are in Aurora. I drive by that theater a lot as it's right off I-225.

I was at Golden Gates tonight, I didn't hear about any of the Blackhawk regs being involved.

In other news, the 5-100 O/8 started up again tonight, and it was crazy, like it was a couple of years ago. good times if you could hit a flop.

That 5-100I o8 game is great but so hard to find or start it. We tried numerous times at ameristar but no luck

It would be great to get it going at A*, lots of gamble over there. But I've never seen it run outside of GG, there were quite a few people that were playing that I didn't know, and now that WSOP is over some of the bigger players may be back in town. Trying to be optimistic, I'd be really pysched if that comes back, especially the way it played last night (example: $20 raise, I raise to $120 with AAxx, 3 callers and yet somehow an A manages to flop!)

Anyone know how many players to expect for the main event? What does first usually pay? Really want to play! What percentage of players make day 2 and what time does the event start on each day?

Good luck getting anything new to start at A*. It would be nice, yes, but actually starting anything other than the same few holdem games every day is... not really their thing.

To go along with this does anybody know what the cap is? With only 1 Day 1 session they can't fit that many people in that room can they?

If they let people rebuy/buy-in during the first couple of hours, they can generate a lot of seats.

This is true, but with the structure I doubt too many people go out in the first few levels. Depends on how long they allow re-entries.

Tried the 3pm qualifier. Went out 15th of like 50 (5 seats given away). Had like 90k at 800/1600/200a, but when card dead and ended up shoving my last 26k at 2k/4k/400a after just looking at a king. BB wakes up with aces and hold vs my K3o. Derp.

I'll likely try the qualifier again tomorrow. Apparently they don't allow early registration for the 1k event (lolz). Guy I talked to says registration will start around 10am. If I don't qualify, I'll be there Saturday at precisely 10:01am to avoid the cluster**** that will consistent of 100+ people trying to reg at 11:45.

I played the deepstack yesterday which is similar to the main event structure. People play soooooo bad, there will be plenty of busts and re-entries in the main. I grabbed the structure sheet for the main.

-Re-entries are allowed through 6 level (6 hours)
-$1110 gets you 55K
-Play ends at estimated time of 1:30am on Day 1
-I THINK play starts at 1pm on Day 2
-They will evaluate after level 24 if we need to come back Monday for Day 3
-I HEARD they are capping around 200 seats

I would guess they are capping it at 20 tables, not 200 seats. With 20 tables and rebuys I could see this event getting 250-300 entries

I doubt this tournament is really worth it, IMO.

300 entries = $300,000 prize pool.

Top 30 would get paid out right then?

$2k-ish for 21st-30th
$3k-ish for 11th-20th
10th: $4.5k
9th: $6k
8th: $9k
7th: $12k
6th: $15k
5th: $18k
4th: $21k
3rd: $27k
2nd: $54k
1st: $81k

Obviously some big payouts, but in order to double your money, you'd have to play for 13hrs on the first day and possibly another 8-10 hours on the second day.

Obviously if you think you can get to the final table it might be worth it, but it would suck if they had to have it go into a 3rd day.

Too many chips, too slow of level ups. Obviously geared towards weaker tournament players, and I am sure the good ones will kill it.

3pm qualifier today - 2 tables but they had enough re-entrants to award three seats. Get down to the bubble. Chips are like;

Seat 10 - 250k
Seat 9 (me) -90k
Seat 8 - 75k
Seat 7 - 60k

I'm the BB, SB makes it 14k at 2k/4k. I pick up JJ an go arrin. SB absolutely snaps me off harder then I've been snapped before. I show JJ, he rolls over AQss. Board bricks out, I'll be back Saturday!

When he snapped though, I about threw up.
