The quality of the Isle room is great, it just never got good momentum no matter how hard they tried. I've always had a good experience playing there, but it's always just 1 table running in a big empty silent room.

The Orchid Garden restaurant next to the poker room is also great, but it's also a big empty restaurant. I just think the poker room and Orchid Garden are in an awkward location in the casino.

^^^ This. I really think they should move the room into that alcove off the escalator. Not as queit, but WAY more casual traffic.

What they really need to do is move it to the corner of Richman & Main St.

I agree the quality of the Isle room is great. I would much rather spend time grinding in the Isle over the ameristar any day. Its quiet, accommodating, and comfortable. Unfortunately the room gets no action and its a shame, so many obnoxious things about the ameristar but its basically the only place to play other than the lodge from time to time and the Gates for tournaments. I will be back though to the Isle for the WPT.

Yes the restaurant is great but it's like $17-20 for some sesame chicken.

Re: Colorado Poker championship IV

Does anybody know the blind structure of the main event other than 50k starting stacks and 60 minute levels? The website (http://coloradopokerchampionship.com) is bare bones and I don't see anything on the GG website or its FB page. Thanks.

@Muttface, just wondering what the many obnoxious things at Ameristar are? I heard the Isle is taking some of the poker tables out and putting in some Blackjack tables. Not sure if this is true or a rumor?

Plans to shut down this room are in the process according to my friends that work at the isle of capri. They are skirting the law with the $2,000 buy in and being after the hpt, no one will have money left, since the satelites last year never ran. Good luck trying to run a poker room new in this town. The current poker room is generating a few hundred thousand dollar loss each month, i dont know how they can sustain that If you want high quality guys, go to the gates.
Man, nothing aganst Gates... But you are obv Gates shill. So.... why no more rebuy tournies and any plans to get Bravo?

When I think of high quality Gates isn't the first place I think of. They get break in dealers pay em $3 an hour and have low standards. There are some great Dealers there, but their "quality" starts from the top down. Their best dealers are jumping ship and going to Ameristar

In my opinion, Gates is the worst of the rooms that people actually play at. It always feels disorganized there. Front desk is horrible, they don't scan your players card at table (Unless that has changed) and the room has a depressing feel. I think the Lodge and Ameristar are really the only decent places to play. Lodge has the room share on the bad beat which is nice, the dealers and rewards are some of the best. Of course Ameristar has the action and higher limits, along with better atmosphere.

Indeed there were. A quick trip report from Saturday night:

The Lodge also has a ~200k secondary BBJ. Word is getting around about the BBJ and that may be driving bad out-of-staters in. There was one guy from Texas who needed to be explained straddling at my table. There were a couple of short stacks (<<50BB) that were too loose and passive. Much to the guy in the white Broncos jersey who managed to crack my big pairs twice from the blinds but was nice enough to donk on the flop to keep me from losing more. (He showed his hands enough to make it an accurate read for me.)

At 19:30 it was one 5-100 and 9-ish 2-100 tables, dwindling to one 5-100 and 6-ish 2-100 at 2:30 Sunday. I bet the traffic will dry up once the BBJs get hit.

Other places:
Ameristar at 19:30 - busy, but one table was empty. BBJ at 92k.
Gates at 23:30 - half-full at best, with a tourney running. BBJ at 50k.
Isle at 23:30 - 2 tables. They must want the Gates business as they also have an elevator that empties directly into the poker room.

Saw they do "room share" on their BBJ. Any idea what % is room share?

I was just told room share is $5,000. Not sure of its progressive or fixed.

The BBJ is table share ONLY. But, the Lodge is also including a room share of $5000 when it hits.

So you're both right, I guess.

And my God are the tables soft...my best friend came into town last weekend and between us, we took $1900 off a 1-2 table on Saturday.
