Recently had to fill out a W-9 for DK and asked them about tax thresholds and got this response. I’d assume this is consistent with all sites as it’s a state regulation and not up to the books themselves.

Hopefully this helps somewhat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In the least surprising new ever, Black Hawk city council officially voted to approve "unlimited wagers" on Tuesday per Amendment 77 passing. Goes into effect 5/1/2021.

not that the management at Ameristar gives two shits about the needs of the players... but if somehow they read this I would recommend the following limits

1/3 NL 100-300 buy in
5/5 NL 300-500 buy in
5/10 NL 500-1500 buy in

1/2 PLO 100-500 buy in

keeping the effective stacks not super deep should protect the pool somewhat and prevent people from getting destroyed early and often... but, these guys won't even let you move a table when the sun blasts through the window into your face as it would be too much work for them. the stubbornness and anti customer attitude is unlike any room I've played in and yet somehow they are the best option in town.... PLEASE DM me if you have private games!

I like an entry level game like 1-2NL with a smaller, minimum buyin for the casual players $60 - $200

And then a 2-3NL $100 - $300

2-5NL $200 - $500

5-5NL $300 - match the big stack or $1000, whichever is higher

5-10NL $500 - uncapped

1-3 PLO $100 - $300

2-5 PLO $300 - $1000

5-5 PLO $500 - uncapped

If the CDPHE adheres to the metrics for determining a county's level on the status dial, I don't see an opening before the beginning of February at the earliest. Gilpin County's positivity rate is hovering at 5.4%, and the cases per 100,000 has not dropped down to 0-75. The positivity rate needs to be below 5% and cases per 100,000 needs to be 0-75 for 2 consecutive weeks before the health department will approve a county's switch to blue or green on the status level.

Sorry I don't have better news.

Ameristar lets cheaters play here!

I am a Long time 30 60 player. I'm appalled that so much collusion goes on in this game. Players sandwich to get you out of the pot and then check down.

Many players have gotten caught for cheating which is very hard to do. But ameristar lets them return. For instance, Tom T has gotten kicked out for colluding with a friend for a month but let back in. Then he gets kicks out again this time for marking cards and ameristar still lets him back in. Unbelievable!

Horribly ran poker room and they allow cheats to sit in the game!

Gilpin County 5-star certification program
https://stories.opengov.com/gilpinco...shed/qfNLSniMQ

Tune in at 11am tomorrow to watch the zoom call with County officials

Covid dial dashboard/County Map
https://covid19.colorado.gov/data/co...dial-dashboard

2 week cumulative incidence rate: 177/100,000 --> level orange
2 week average positivity rate: 2.5% --> level green
2 week hospitalizations: 0 --> level green
Overall level --> orange (due to incidence rate)

Gilpin County only has about 6,300 residents. Edgewater, CO for comparison has nearly as many residents and is about 1 square mile in size. The low population of Gilpin County is driving the incidence rate up, while the actual # of cases is very low compared to metro Denver counties. You could call this "high variance." At 177 cases per 100,000 population, that equates to 11 cases in Gilpin County cumulatively over the last 2 weeks. That one metric measured by CDPHE is holding up opening up of table games. It's a useful measure for high population centers, but poor for rural, sparsely populated areas. Statistics 101

Thanks for updates again - it does not look good. I have seen numerous Colorado regs in Vegas latelly( mainly Venetian).
I have been playing live and online PLO more than holdem and I hope that we will get PLO action atleast at 2/5 level. Based on Legislation it would be legal to run it on 05/01/2021?

Hello all, just wanted to provide an update after sitting in on the Gilpin County zoom call this morning. Table games will not be allowed under the 5-star certification program, and would require a variance from the state, as was the case back in the Fall of 2020. I expect that once the incidence rate drops down to < 100 cases per 100,0000 and vaccination rates ramp up, Gilpin County will apply for a variance. Hard to estimate on a time frame but my guess would be not until March 1 or later.

Thanks for the updates, Ride.

Worst-case, hoping they can get tables reopened for (at least) a few weeks before 5/1 so the dealers can get their legs back before introducing new games and increased betting limits. Don't think poker would be too bad regardless but worry it might be a little bit of a s-show in the short-term for table games.

Main thing that needs to happen is Ameristar needs to hire someone who has a clue to set up the room with the new limits... the short haired girl who was running things some days in the fall was completely incompetent and had a horrible attitude- best thing that could happen to Ameristar would be if they could poach a manager from Vegas or LA or somewhere where they understand how to run a poker room- that or another room being able to provide legit competition...

Here is to hoping for a legit 2/5 NL game either 200-1k or 300-1000, a 1/2 PLO game 100-300, and a 1/2 NL 100-300... hopefully all of the 30/60 "sharks" will come over and learn to play real poker!

Proposed new Covid-19 dial framework

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/st...id=hplocalnews

I'm not surprised this is being considered. The dial is simply not an accurate measure of real danger across all parts of the state. The last one is particularly interesting as I just mentioned this a couple posts ago.

Here are the proposed changes to the framework:

An increase in the range of incidence metrics for all colors to better balance disease suppression with economic hardship while preventing a hospital capacity breach.

Moving to a seven-day metric of incidence rate, percent positivity of testing and hospitalizations instead of a 14-day metric to more quickly respond to local conditions

Decreasing the metric requirement for testing positivity rates in the yellow and orange levels to continue to promote testing as an important disease containment strategy

Special consideration from CDPHE for counties with populations under 20,000 to determine the level on the dial, accounting for weekly variability in the percent positivity of tests and disease incidence rates

Looks like this could happen sooner than expected? The Covid dial for Gilpin County has been updated and all of the metrics are now in the green. Instead of cases per 100k it is showing that there are "fewer than 8 cases in the past two weeks." Positivity rate is 1.9% and no hospitalizations in past 2 weeks. Time to open up the pokers.

When will Colorado expand its revenue by introducing Online Poker bill? We are way behind other states.
https://www.greatlakesstakes.com/new...0jurisdictions.

Should we start petitions, call, email State legislators? https://leg.colorado.gov/find-my-legislator
send them copies of other states bills http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(mln...e=2020-SB-0991

We are indeed way behind the curve, and I feel like Colorado dropped the ball here. My biggest peeves with the online poker legislation progress is the time it's taking to get new states onboard, and then the interstate compacts between the states to share player pools. I don't know why a state would enact legislation to legalize online poker, and then make it only intrastate. This would be terrible for Colorado due to our very small population.

Michigan went live this year, but I believe they are starting out for in-state residents only. Also Poker Stars should be available to all states that have legalized online poker so they can access the world market. I don't think Nevada even allows Poker Stars?

Another update to add regarding reopening table games

Beginning tomorrow, Gilpin County will officially be in level blue. This opens the door for Gilpin Co. to move forward with the application to reopen table games per local and state guidelines. This process may take 1-2 weeks and I expect an official announcement around mid to end of February.

I was under the impression that being below level yellow meant table games would automatically be permitted? Is there a restriction on table games regardless of the covid dial level? Do you have a link to the regulations that require them to apply for table games? Thanks

Any clue what the updated restrictions would be? Same as before or possibly allowing for a few more ppl?

Guessing it would take at least a week for everywhere to get additional staff & dealer schedules lined up to re-open.

Folks, my buddy who is a dealer at the Gates says he is scheduled to report for work in the poker room on Thursday. I would say that's the green light. Whether that means the rooms will actually be open for the public on Thursday or next weekend, I'm not 100% positive. I'll send updates as I find out more information.

All the best,
