Seems like Mixed games initiative not going anywhere... It is crazy because we just need 6-8 players. I could bring 2.

Just played my first live Mixed game ( Wynn 9/18 14 games rotation ). Lost but had a lot of fun...
I wish we would have something similar at least once a week in Colorado. I am open for 8/16, 10/20 or even 20/40. If it is home game( no rake ) will play even lower stakes.

14 games? Damn that had to have been fun. Never a dull moment! I'd be happy with even a 5 or 8 game rotation. Just a lack of dynamic, adventurous players in CO. Comfort zone, comfort zone, comfort zone.

Big risk brings big rewards.

Best,
Aaron

For a few weeks I had an interest list going all week long for a Sunday 11AM game and the only interest I got was from regulars who were already there. I asked for phone #'s and email addys here for alerts and got ZERO response. All I got was "I called and the game was never going". Jeeez. It will never go if everyone waits for it to go first. Show up any maybe it will.

I'd love to get a mixed game going, as would many of the dealers (1/2 SL gets old). I've heard the same few here ask for it over and over the last few years, but frankly I just don't know if there's enough interest.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing anyone here, just frustrated. I want to see this go!

CO poker is weird.......

Dang A-star still doesn't have Mississippi straddle? That really surprises me. Seems like deathstar of doom does whatever they can to increase average pot size to increase rake. It's a good business decision to have it.

By the way, does anyone know if there will be an organized effort in the 2020 election to add no limit gaming to the ballot in Colorado? How many signatures does the state require to add the amendment to the ballot to be voted on?

Do they have petition for that? What about legalization of poker in Denver?

Any links, details?
How big is a room? Will they try to compete with Ameristar because other Blackhawk poker rooms are complete joke.

I didn't see that anywhere on the site. Are you referring to their careers section that mentions an open poker supervisor position? That of course signals an imminent opening of a poker room, but we don't know the estimated date yet, not even a month. Could be anywhere from October to January.

My guess is they'll open a smaller room to start and scale up from there if patronage warrants it. Say 12 tables initially. Casinos calculate revenue per square foot to make business decisions on profitability and usage of gaming areas. Poker has never been particularly profitable for a casino operator, but their data and financial analysts will crunch numbers to see how much overflow exists from poker to slots and table games.

I wouldn't call the Gates a complete joke. I mean, you can't play tournaments anywhere else (weekly regulars, HPT, WPT, MSPT, CPC). You also can easily exploit the nitty players at Gates in the cash games and push them around. Gates certainly has its advantages.

They will never be able take over Ameristar unless they will go big with huge promotions. Isle tried, Lodge tried and failed misserably.

It is pretty mutch settled that 1/2 is pretty much unbeatable with 7$ rake in the long run thus 2/5 is the only option.

Apparently I've been living under a rock and didn't realize we had a sports betting bill on the ballot until I saw a commercial for it during the NFL game last night. Anyone have any info on this outside of what's been publicized about it thus far?

If approved, sounds like it will physically be limited to Black Hawk / Central City / Cripple Creek but might be an online component, too? Guess that means we'd be able to place bets on Draft Kings or whoever else decided to side up with the brick & mortar casinos in the state?

I think the point is that the casinos that are approved can provide online apps, not that any gambling online app is automatically approved.

... assuming it is voted in in November.

I have a question about self-exclusions from casinos. I self-excluded myself from the Isle of Capri Blackhawk in 2007 for reasons of personal protest against high rake (mainly in tournaments). I won the bad beat at Isle in 2017 and upon being paid out by check at the main cage I was informed I was excluded FOR LIFE from Isle properties. I was not aware I had signed up to be excluded for life, and they said any self exclusion is a lifetime ban per company policy. I had to sign a form acknowledging I had been warned and another visit would be criminal trespass.

So in 2017 Eldorado Resorts acquired Isle of Capri, which I assume means I am now also excluded from all properties in the Isle chain, as well as all properties under Eldorado Resorts. Now Caesers acquired Eldorado Resorts, which will be completed in Q1 2020. Does this now mean I am excluded from all properties under aforementioned, AND ALL Caesers properties, which included the WSOP? This is devastating and seemingly unfair as I did not sign up to be excluded from all these properties for life.

Does anyone know a contact to discuss the law as it pertains to self exclusions and how they carry over under mergers and acquisitions, and if they can be reversed?
