Thanks. Were most people buying in for around 1.5k? With most pots being capped pre?

Hey guys and gals, just moved to Denver from California, and am looking for a local home game. I’m even open to Co Springs. Looking forward to meeting new people.

Thanks

also which casino seats u the quickest without having to wait, and can someone in the blackhawk area right now look on their phone and see if Uber shows up in blackhawk as a driver in your area? i think its only in denver so u can use it to get there, but not to get back? if they have drivers in blackhawk id love to know. the only way to know is if someone currently in blackhawk tries to bring up Uber on their phone and see if it says no drivers in your area.

Search YouTube for videos on how to wash your laundry in the bathtub. Since you travel so much maybe consider getting the kind of lightweight quick-drying clothes designed for travelers?

Or you can use hotel laundry service.

Or there is a KOA campground in Central City where you might be able to sneak in a load of laundry. You can take a cab the whole way (maybe 3-4 miles) or the shuttle to Central City and then walk or take a prearranged shuttle or cab the rest of the way (maybe one or two miles) to the KOA. But I think they keep everything locked up so it might be best if you call them first and ask if you can "tip"/pay to use the laundry room.

You can try looking on https://m.uber.com/ on your laptop if you don't have a cell signal.

There are shuttles to Denver too.

Sorry that's all I know about it.

How are the spread limit games treating you?

winning over $2000 in the first 6 days ive been here, not had one losing day. but im wondering, u got the private blog invite right? i dont remember if u gave me your email. hotel laundry service? like $6 a shirt for 30 shirts, not even counting pants and socks, about $200 for a $10 load of laundry? no thanks. and there is NO CAB here, closest cab, or Uber is in denver. there used to be one like 4 years ago no longer in business. if u need to go anywhere the local shuttle wont go its like a 2 mile walk and its unsafe walking it at night when u are carrying so much cash because theres no bank here to deposit it in.

If anyone's been following the situation with Tom, they've arrested the shooter and his accomplice (a TCH casino employee who tipped him off).

Has anyone played the new survivor format they have for the 7pm at the gates? Curious about the number of players showing up and typical payout. Thanks.

Hello, I saw there were two tables of "2-5 - 100 Omaha Hi Lo" this past Friday night at Ameristar. Is this a regular game? How often does it run? And is the blind structure basically 2-5 PLO with a cap of 100 per hand (or per street)? I'm not familiar with this or cap/spread limit. Just curious, might visit a friend in Denver and come up to play. Thanks!

I just came back to the Denver area, after living in Vegas for over seven years. I didn't think I'd be craving a poker fix so soon, but I've found myself checking Bravo repeatedly last week, and I have some questions.

Even though the post above says that the O8 game runs every weekend, I have yet to see anything except Holdem on Bravo. How often do other games get going? I basically won't play Holdem at all any more. My favorite games are low limit mix and the 1-2-5 Big O at the series each year. I'll also play smaller HORSE or 8-game tourneys on occasion.

I'll definitely go play that O8 game if I see it running, but I'd really prefer to get a mix game going. What are the chances I could convince a few other degens to come join me for a low limit mix game? If you've gone to Vegas in the last 5-6 years and played 3-6 or 4-8 mix at TI, Mirage, Aria, Orleans, or the Linq (when it was the Quad or IP)... You'll know what I'm talking about, aaaaaaand we've probably already played together.

I know it's a long shot, but I can't be the only one that would like to play mix games in Denver. Let's get something going! I'll play as high as 9/18 mix with anyone who's willing to get crazy with me.

Just show up at Ameristar Friday after 4 PM and that game( spread limit 2-5 O8) will be running. You will see guys sitting with average 500$ stacks and some with 2000$ +( usually one guy...).
We tried to start Mix Games for the last 7+ years but no success( it did run couple time at Golden Gates).
I would be down to play 8/16 Horse game every Saturday or Sunday. Anybody else?

I had heard from a dealer at the Golden Gates that there is a limit to which poker games casinos are licensed to run in Blackhawk. Not sure if this is accurate or not, but may explain why there haven't been any other games running as I'm sure there are more then enough players to get a game like that going semi regularly like the Omaha on weekends. I for one would help start a game if possible.

It is true that the Department of Revenue, which licenses casinos and their employees, has authority over which games are offered. Gates has offered HORSE in the past. It may not offer razzdugi and other deviants of poker until DoR allows.

is there any explanation from someone who plays the fri/sat ameristar omaha game why it runs as spread limit verse fix limit such as 5/10, 10/20, 15/30, or 20/40, possibly even as BigO sometimes. do people just like to see flops for $5 and pay just $7 an orbit in the 2/5/100 o8 vs $15 in a 10/20 o8 game? A fixed limit o8 game would get a lot more traffic from the 30/60 lhe player pool

Years ago a 5/10 o8 full kill game ran at gates, maybe get a game like this going again and attempt to add in a mix of games over time. It would have to be done by players being pretty organized to get this going as no poker room cares to put in the effort to do anything out of the ordinary

I'd be in for any non-holdem on weekends.

I'm in for 8-16 HORSE. Can play Saturdays or Sundays. I always ask for an interest list at Gates or Ameristar and they pretty much laugh at me or don't actually put the interest list up on the board. Kind of rude.

On a side note, I'm the only one to have ever gotten a crazy pineapple game going in Blackhawk. and I did it on 3 separate occasions at the Lodge before they closed. People had a blast, don't know why more people don't want to play more non hold'em, or variants thereof.

Can anyone recommend an area for dispersed camping near Black Hawk/Central City?

Had to google that. Why did camping in a primitive site's name get changed to "dispersed camping?" From the US Forest Service: "All National Forest lands are open to camping unless otherwise posted." Some examples are here.

Thanks! I'd not seen that site. And I don't know the answer to your "dispersed camping" question. Camping is new to me so as far as I know it's always been called that.

Is Cripple Creek worth the drive? Staying at BlackHawk for a wedding in Denver and thought about doing an extra night in Cripple Creek for blackjack/general degen.
