Does anyone have a CPC schedule I can actually read? Their site is such a POS. I guess I could wait when I go up for the noon on Sunday but I'm trying to plan out the time I have off from work and pick a few tournies to play.

I was able to download the JPG from their facebook page which is actually readable. Give that a shot or I can upload it to google docs.

I have played 6/12 and 10/20 (exactly once each) at Ameristar (they have, on rare occasions, actually got those games going). The 6/12 was, if anything, looser than the 4/8. I remember several occasions in that game where I called one bet on the flop in late position with bottom pair or a gutshot (with 12:1 or better pot odds), and was lucky enough to catch a winner a few times. The 10/20 started out extremely loose and got somewhat tighter as the real gamblers busted out, but never got anywhere close to "nitty".

I actually played in one of those rare 6/12 games there too, my friends don't believe me when I tell them it ever actually ran! All I want for Xmas is a CO 8/16 or 10/20 game, or to be able to play on PokerStars again.

I hear that Gates is going to no BBJ after they hit the current JPs. Is this true? I've sort of been out of the loop since being ****-canned from the Lodge.

EDIT: Just saw it posted a few pages back. My bad. Haven't been on here for a while.

Despite of a lot of rumors, HPT is coming back to GG. Just saw on HPT's website: tourny is scheduled at GG 4.09-4.22. IMO, this is very good news. Last time it was a million dollar prizepool and aslo HPT is improving tournament structure. Tourny starts with 40min blinds and towards the end gets to 60 min levels. Final 6 are returning next day(monday?) for final table taping.
Any words from ISLE brinning WPT back?

Sigh, just got the CPC schedule and I almost cried when I saw a 20% rake on each tournament, and I can only assume they are doing the $10 Dealer toke for another 5K chips. That's a lot of rake. The players are possibly the worst in the nation but I'm going to have trouble justifying playing 4 or 5 of those.

How do u like the timing of CPC. All around the biggest Holidays. Are they trying to attract people in the slowest season? Gotta wonder who is going to show up...

I've never played in one of these big tourneys before and wondering, how exactly does it work? Do all the smaller tourny's serve as satellites? Or are they just for points while the satellites are their own seperate thing? I have the schedule downloaded just not exactly sure on how these bigger series tournaments even work. Thanks for any help.

Each tournament pays out separately, for those who play multiple ones the points earned go towards the Overall Player which is a separate prize. One thing to keep in mind if you haven't played at GG before is that they do not do any sort of dinner breaks, usually just 10 minute breaks every four levels. In a tournament there last Saturday at noon, there were 120 players and it went for 13 hours. Not sure how others feel about this, but I hate having to eat at the table.

Late September.

The reason is that they wanted a few Asian floor supervisors to attract more of the Asian players. Basically, I'm too white. They canned four of us. All of us had 6+ years in there. Sucky way to go but that's life.

I am seeking advice on how to play the $1/$2-$100 cash game. I have had very little success finding resources (books, guides, etc.) that deal specifically with spread limit strategy, let alone strategy regarding the 2-100 game. I have read countless times that 2-100 "plays very similar to no limit," yet I have not found much excellent advice on either the subtle or larger differences between the two games.

My first instinct is to start reading some NL books. The problem lies in trying to translate the NL advice into the 2-100 format. I have not read any books yet, so I don't have any specific questions. I am anticipating and trying to figure out the best way to go about analyzing the NL material.

These are the books I plan on reading (any advice on the order to be read would be appreciated):

No Limit Hold'em: Theory and Practice
Professional No-Limit Hold'em: Volume I
Harrington on Cash Games: Volume I
Harrington on Cash Games: Volume II

+1000, I playe a lot if their mtts n its bitter to see their massive rake
I won last Saturday 7pm n was super upset , I didn't chop took 1st n only received
14x the buyin. The rake+add on is death I have decided to pass on the cpc+ the gates mtts entirely breaking down the mathematics of their rake most winning players have to win at a super high frequency to break even in the long run. Ill wait for the wpt n hpt events at least their rake is wayyyy smaller.

Cripple Creek Update:

Wildwood has re-opened their poker room, Thursday-Sunday only. It is just four tables and so far pretty action free (only been re-opened 3 weeks), but they have good tables with shufflers. We'll see if they do anything with it...

Fellas, I'm from out of town and in Keystone for a week over the holidays. I like to play 2/5 NL, or big limit games. Which casino should I visit?

Thanks!!

How are the games typically over the holidays? Planning on going up the hill tomorrow to play 1/2/100 HE at the Ameristar, but I'm somewhat worried it's gonna be a bunch of rocks grinding it out...I'm hoping since a lot of people have vacation at this time of year, tomorrow might play like a typical weekend or something. Is this wishful thinking?
