I agree that's a ******ed structure.... I played some 2/5/100 while I was in town and even thought that was a bit awkward.

I really hope they remove the cap before I come out here again.... though I did really enjoy the 10/20 o8 game at gg on tuesday

The 10/20 list got to about 7 or 8 names fairly quickly, but didn't go, at least as of about 5pm. 5/10-100 did, though. They had one table of it with a remaining list about 4-5 long.

I have seen this happen at Ameristar before a number of times, even getting up to 10 or 11 names and still not going. My theory is that the interest list is mostly made up of people currently sitting in other games that management would rather not risk breaking by moving players to a new table. Very frustrating for limit players like me who are rolled for 10/20 but not quite 30/60, especially with online being on pause.

Second, do we want to split the already thinning LHE pool between two rooms? Should we try to get a 10/20 going first at A* and then move it to the better rake structure at GG?

A* is admittedly damn near openly hostile to opening anything other than 2-100, 5-100, 4/8, and 30/60, but I've also received similar crooked looks from GG floor staff when I mention anything to do with LHE.
I would be happy to try A* but I just don't think they'll spread it, especially on the weekend, but perhaps if we were there before a 4/8? They'd be able to rake more. I play a lot at GG, I think they'll start a list for us, essentially guaranteed $5 rake/hand, better than 2-100/NLHE. Don't know how much people on this list care, but GG also gives $5/comps for 5/10 or higher (I play 5/10 Limit O/8 there), I can always get a really nice steak after playing there

There was a stretch where A* used to get a 10/20 going, but the biggest problem was that it ended up being about 6 players waiting for 30/60 all bitching that they should just make it a 30-game (and eventually leaving when their seats open up).

I don't mean to hijack the thread at all, but as I'm not able to start a thread in marketplace, I was wondering if anyone knew of any poker players in the Denver area looking for a room mate or anything? Please PM me if you could, I'd appreciate it.

Also, what is the weekly tournament scene like in the Denver area?

10/20 O/8 got going around 4:15 Saturday at GG (I was there) and apparently also went on Friday. It ran until around midnight, I think, usual mix of nits and silly set miners.

Could somebody please post the CPC schedule. All I can find is the Dec 22- Jan 8 sign. Poor online promoting and bad choice of dates (during Christmas??) so far.

I have a paper copy I picked up Friday, but I cannot find it online yet. I am pretty sure it will be posted 12/1/11. The events are essentially the same as CPC II. The only things running on 12/25/11 are satellites.

macduge, right?

5/10 O/8 game at GG played with over buttons on Sunday, first time I've ever seen (or even heard of) that.

Did anyone try to get 10/20 LHE going at A*? I never saw a list at GG.

I wouldn't count on the $100 cap being eliminated any time soon. Doing so would require an amendment to the state constitution, which requires a petition and referendum, just as the increase from $5 to $100 max bet (which also allowed 24 hr operation and added craps and roulette). I don't think poker is important enough for any of the casinos to sponsor such an effort. I would like to see true N/L in Colorado too, but I don't think it's going to happen in the forseeable future.

Another problem is that by the time they get a big enough list to start a game, they have often filled all of their tables with other games. They're not going to close a 1/2 game to start a 10/20.

Looking for a good game Friday night -- in town for the weekend. I guess I won't play the ******ed cap games so any decent O8 10-20 to 20 40...will play lower O8 to screw around if need be.

Will also play stud/stud8 10 20 or higher if it is spread anywhere.

Staying north of the city and have a car if that matters at all.

Thanks.

Edit: will play 10 20 or 20 40 LHE if no O8 is running.

So question, new to the state, forecasting up to 10 inches today for CC/BH. How quickly do they get to clearing the roads (Parkway/119/6) up there?

I am assuming 70 gets cleared pretty quickly.

For LHE you have two choices, 4/8 or 30/60 @ Ameristar, there is no in between as has been indicated multiple times ITT. Everything else is some variant of spread limit, either 1/2 - 10, 1/2 - 100 or 2/5 - 100.

I can't answer your question about O8 aside from saying nothing runs at the limits you mentioned, you may want to call Golden Gates, I know some sort of Omaha runs there at a lower limit (unsure if 08). Never seen stud at any of the Colorado casinos.

How funny that looks that only LHE is 4/8 or 30/60. It is true but what a joke.

Guess I'll just screw around at low limit O8 for a while. Does GG allow call-ins?

For your purposes just go to GG and play, they'll have some O8 running within your range of limits.

Our LHE economy is strange and frustrating, sorry.

What's even funnier is the 30/60 game plays essentially the same as the 4/8 game in terms of quality and looseness of play.

So why cry? just join in! If somebody would start 10/20 it would be full of nits and way tougher than 30/60 because none of the gamblers would leave 30/60 for 10/20. All you need to do is to find a good job that you could afford to play that game or just grind that bankroll out at 1/2.
