Yes, the Dept. of Health basically told us that as long COVID numbers remain good all restrictions will be lifted on 5/16 except masks - those will still need to be worn.

Can't fricking wait so we can get these wait lists down to manageable levels and get a big tournament event scheduled.

Thanks to everyone for their patience.

Cannot wait! So far I’m impressed with Golden gates.

What is the rake for NL games? Assuming 5/10 is time? Same for PLO?

Colorado gaming statute does not allow time, only "10% of the pot up to $5".

Sorry, I misquoted here. The max rake is 10% if the pot, no $5 max. The only restriction is $2 max for a jackpot rake. The $5 has been the norm here for so long, but I remember the Lodge going $6 rake back in the day and the mass exodus from the room. Whoops, LOL.

Hey John,

Is it still looking good for May 16 to expand to 9 handed? Do you anticipate all poker rooms to expand to nine handed then as well? And one last question, do you think the demand will be there to spread PLO consistently?

Thanks in advance!
Sam

We plan on going 9 handed on May 16th and as far as I know all rooms will. I haven't heard the county say otherwise.

We've had tremendous interest in PLO. With gigantic wait lists for other games it's been tough to spread it, but we have. To my knowledge nobody else has. After the 16th I plan on spreading it consistently.

John,

Thank you for the response and for the excellent news!

I will definitely be heading up on Sunday to try and play some PLO. See you then.

If you want a seat in less than 6 hrs yes lol. I played exclusively at Ameristar before and haven’t played one session there in months since their wait times are just absurd. They run that room like crap now

There’s no list for the 100-200 LHE game that’s running at Astar now (according to Bravo)

Happened to look at Monarch on Bravo. The description says they're opening the 14th at 6 PM.

Walkins can sign up starting at 5, callins at 6.

Any word when they're going to return to full rooms with all tables open? Or is everywhere still hurting too bad for dealers to go full bore yet?

1) there ain't enough willing participants to deal poker
2) economic stimulus legislation = stay home and collect UI
3) dealers moved to Florida, Las Vegas, etc.
5) staff left angry because of the shutdowns and won't return

just think about all the dealers and cocktail servers you no longer see. when ya think about it, why do you think they left? see above

Good points. Did see CO is now offering a "return to work" bonus for unemployed people who start jobs in May & June, so maybe that'll spur some new dealer hires for the places in need.

I played at the monarch for the first time. Nicest poker room in Blackhawk. Masks not required in Blackhawk now. Full capacity, 9 handed tables. Monarch has low ceilings and a separated poker room. It still has some kinks, but they move the list as fast as they can and have dealers to open new tables. Plus they do food service at the table. Ameristar still has lists 30 people long. Not enough dealers.

I also played at Monarch the other night as well and it is very very nice. However, there were a ton (proportionally) of backpack regs who were familiar with one another. More per square foot than I’ve just about ever seen. Where did they all come from? Surely not Ameristar pre-NL, given a $100 bet/raise cap makes 2/5+ infeasible in terms of high WR? The Denver home game scene?
