Good luck with this.
I am glad to get what we got. Been playing in South Dakota. 8 handed, no masks required.

I think there is a typo. I believe that you meant to state you’re a “Former Florida poker room supervisor...”

If not, then I’m curious how much they are paying Florida poker-room supervisors anyway?

No, I'm a current supervisor. My room is open and running.

I make less than when I was a dealer but enough to get by.

only 2 states? what about the other 3 states with a betting limit? one with $500, one with $150, and one with $100?

$500 is in the southwest, $150 in the northeast, and $100 in the midwest

Anyone have any updates on Blackhawk? How have the games been? What time do they usually get going?

Games at Ameristar great, lots of people straddling thus with 6 max becomes very fast and aggresive game. Lots of people losing a lot off money fast.
I believe you need twice as big bankroll than 9 max.
Be prepared to play 5 handed because you can still take 45 minute breaks.
So, if you know how to play 6 max and rolled for it (variance will be huge) - games are great.
Games 24/7(1/3 and 2/5)but weekends the best. 30/60 still not running(they had a list going).

At Blackhawk waiting for them to open the 30. Floor person tells me they won’t consolidate a 1/3 or 2/5 to open a 30. This is exactly what they did last weekend so I’m a little confused.

There are 4 each of 1/3 and 2/5.

I guess as a player you are just at the will of the floor working that day.

With only 9 tables @ 6 max they will rarely be able to get 30 going...Seems like a real shame b/c this way of running the room can kill the game...

The 30/60 game should be a priority. It generates the most rake and has a higher promotional drop than other games by far. Plus, if that game moves, the room will go the way of The Lodge.

Golden Gates is the biggest poker room now after Ameristar reduced its size.
I hope Golden Gates will step up and will offer better experience(better dealers,) , promotions in order to take top spot in BH(2/5 games, 30/60).

I left Colorado in 2009, so obviously a lot has changed. I used to hate playing at the Lodge (back in the $5 bet days) and preferred the multi-table tourneys at the Gilpin. Does the Gilpin even have a poker room any more? Or a casino for that matter?

I also enjoyed those Gilpin tournaments. It is/was a great room! I left CO in 2012 and don't even remember if it was open when I headed out.

Sucks they won't open up a 30 for you guys, but there's probably zero chance they're going to close down a 1/3 or 2/5 table even if there's a full list from the sound of things. Just checked Bravo and still 9 tables going at 11:30 on a non-holiday Sunday night w/ waiting lists. Captain Obvious statement here, but guessing it may be hard to get 30/60 off with only 9 tables open at the moment unless there's enough to start the game early in the morning when (if?) there's an empty table.

Give it a month or two and hopefully they can open up more tables and things get back to normal(ish) on the poker side.

Curious, how many max tables does GG have open now? By stumbras' comment, assuming more than 9? See 2 tables currently running on Bravo.

Proposition 77 passed by a MILE. Over 70% of voters who cast their votes in Gilpin County voted in favor of 77. What this means is that it is almost guaranteed that when Blackhawk and Central City vote on unlimited gaming, it will pass along the same percentages as the general election. May 2021 will bring Colorado into the rest of the civilized gambling world. NO MORE 100 max.

How many 5/10 NL tables can Colorado support( I would assume 1 weekdays, 2-3 weekends at Ameristar)? Maybe 1 PLO 1/3 game too?

How many 5/10 or bigger games run in Boston and DC area on weekends? I think it's only a few each, at most. And those are much larger metro areas than Denver.

I'm highly skeptical that there will ever be more than one 5/10 NL game, except when there's a big tournament in town (I'm assuming that sometime in the next year or so that will happen again). I don't play a lot of 2/5 these days but when I do half the table has < $200 in front of them. How are these people going to play 5/10 NL? And PLO will simply destroy the bad players, they'll be broke in no time

When the right players are there I can see 100/200 LHE running but that'll only happen a handful of times a year.

Congrats CO players. Now my home state of MN will eventually be the only backwards ass state to still run 2-100 spread limit

Glad the prop passed and assuming it surely passes on the local level when put to vote. I think it benefits table & slot play much more than poker, but am glad to be able to play true NL in a regulated environment now. Tend to agree that I don't see the ecosystem supporting more than 1 or 2 higher-limit NL games, but we'll see. I'd guess a 5/10 game would likely run on the weekends and/or maybe 10/20 when tournaments are here.

Possibility of regular PLO will be interesting. My local room in CA started running a PLO game 1-2x a week back in the late 2000's at the request of some players and it ended up lasting about ~2 months before it dried up. To quant's point, 2 players basically crushed the game and everyone went back to HE. PLO's definitely more popular & widespread now than it was then, so I could see a market for a regular game, but also I've seen live PLO dry up in no time first-hand.

Correct, when Gilpin County moved to the Safer ar Home - Concern level that forced the closure of all table games.

How does taxes on sports betting work in Colorado? If I deposited $1,000 on DraftKings and made a bunch of bets but ended up dead even and withdrew $1,000 exactly with nothing left in my account, do I owe any taxes?

I also deposited $750 on FanDuel and immediately withdrew my initial deposit of $750 within a week and have been playing my winnings for the entire NFL season (freerolling). I have about $1,300 in my account and have not made any additional withdrawals since my first one (initial stake). Would I only owe any taxes on any subsequent withdrawals? You are taxed when you withdraw funds, or I should say you will receive a tax form?

Thanks all
