I do salivate when I look at the games running at Bike, Gardens, Hustler, Hollywood Park and Commerce though.. argh
Yes, agree.
Some how people voted against legalizing poker in major cities and we are stuck with long drives to the mountains and ridiculous 100$ max bet, plus no online poker.

Cage was good about getting the schedule up on the website at least 2 weeks in advance, but Padmore is running the room now and he's still getting into the swing of things as a new manager. Hopefully it's posted soon so I don't have to drive up there just to get a copy. It is the internet age afterall..

To the other GG regs this is Sam(mid 20's, brown hair often wears pajamas or basketball shorts), just found this thread so thought I'd say whatup.

I have high hopes the new management will get a lot of the issues that persisted figured out. Cage was great, however he was very close minded when it came to other peoples ideas and suggestions.

I'm working on it. Cage is an awesome guy. I've known him for 15+ years. I'm not bashing him at all, but I plan on making a few changes. We all have our different styles of running things.

I'm thinking of scheduling certain games that don't spread that often, just like you wrote here. The idea is to start a wait list for a particular game, say a choice game, that would start at a set day/time. When we start the game, it's the main game and those on the list are in first. If the same structure opens on a 2nd table, it's the feeder for the main game to keep it running. If the same structure opens earlier than the scheduled game, the scheduled game is still the main game.

We could take sign ups for the list by phone, etc.

Still in the idea phase, but what do you think? Not sure if this would fly in BH but I know it works well in other markets. It's worth a try.

I vote for Friday, Saturday or Sunday(mornings)- at least 8/16 Limit, if you make it 4/8 it is not worth playing because of the high rake. Maybe create Colorado Mixed games Facebook group( this is Las Vegas group https://www.facebook.com/groups/567870736732638/ ) or some kind of sign up list.

I was thinking the same days/times...maybe Sunday at 11AM. Keep your ears open. It's already Thursday so this weekend might be a stretch, but I'll start getting the word out about this and see what kind of interest we get.

You think we'd get enough interest in a 8/16 game? It baffles me that the small/mid limit games never got traction in BH. I grew up playing limit so I love it, but to basically have 1-2 100, 2-5 100 and 30/60 HE with no other limit games is crazy to me.

I am pretty sure that we have enough middle limit mixed players in Colorado but reaching them all and getting them to Golden Gates at the same time is a different story. Maybe post something on Twitter, Facebook and run some kind of promotion to start the game going on regular basis.

Is anyone aware of any efforts to increase (or remove) the max bet? At least for poker? I'm trying to find a group to join or some way I can help out.

Oh my gawd yes please, JP! I have been trying to get something like this going since 2007. If you can get something regular or even on occasion established, I would be in great debt to you. I cannot do Friday mornings as I work business professional hours but Sat or Sun anytime is good for me.

I'm interested in any limits from 6-12 up to 10-20, but that would be my max based on available bankroll. I also agree about the 4-8 being too small, even 6-12 is a stretch for pot size to rake ratio. 8-16 is a great game because it creates BIG pots with the chip denominations. It makes people interested in playing the game

Really any combination of stud, stud 8, omaha, omaha 8, holdem, razz, pineapple, and crazy pineapple would be a blast! Let's just say you would be seeing a lot more of me

I would suggest 8-Game mix:

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw
Limit Hold’em
Limit Omaha Hi-Lo
Limit Razz
Limit Seven Card Stud
Limit Stud Hi-Lo
No-Limit Hold’em
Pot-Limit Omaha

I was just informed all stud games are illegal in Colorado. That wasn't always the case. What the fudge?? Why would you change the law Colorado??

Look y'all, I don't want to call you or your friend a liar, but I have definitely asked the Poker Manager at Ameristar specifically if it would be ok if we got enough people for a HORSE game and he said yes. This was like two weeks ago.

I just checked online for the gambling laws and didn't see anything excluding stud games.

Let's just calk down until we verify this for real.
