Playing some mspt this week, has the bb at the star been hit yet?

Went last tues and put my name in at 8 pm, 125 in front on the 1-2. Went to bed, woke at 1 am, walked to the poker room and they are calling my name for a seat, lol. Played til 6 am. 4 tables of the 30-60 going also. Amazing.

Just saw the main hit on earlier post

Have any new poker rooms opened up in Cripple Creek, or is it still just Midnight Rose? Thanks in advance

How's the action during the few days around holidays usually (thinking of the Ameristar)? Thinking of heading up in the next few days...

I have not been up there for a few months, but no new poker rooms that I'm aware of. Still just midnight rose. Poker atlas will still show two but is very out of date and inaccurate

May head over to Blackhawk during winter break. What poker room should I hit first? Haven't been there in a few years.

Ameristar for cash games, Golden Gates for tournaments

Headed to Denver in May, are these locations the closest for card rooms & casinos? In Michigan we also have "charity rooms" which are held in bars & restaurants, anything like this either? TIA

No charity rooms in Colorado. There are some home games, but for regular card room open whenever you are free, Blackhawk is it.

Looking to buy a used poker table for my home game. The one that I use for the second table is old and getting unstable...I only need the table top; I already have folding legs that I'll attach for ease of storage.

Anyway, if anybody is selling, send me a PM with pics and price.

thanks all!

What's the A* rake and comp structure?

Always looking for home games here in Denver, $2/$5 ideally....

Been grinding the 2/5 at A* the last couple of months. The games certainly seem to have gotten softer of late, but could definitely be small sample size.

There used to be some underground rooms in Denver (likely still are), but I haven't played in any for many years, nor heard anything about them recently, and of course there are some risks associated with that. I think there are still some bar tournaments (no buyin, small prizes), but, if you want legal poker for real money, Blackhawk and Cripple Creek are it. There are two Indian casinos in southwest Colorado (five or six hour drive from Denver, minimum), but I'm not sure if either of them have poker.

Rake is $5 + $2 jackpot drop. Comps are $1.00/hour. Gates and Isle are same rake and jackpot, with $2/hour comps, but usually only have 1/2. Gates has Mississsippi (button) straddle on all games, and occasionally gets a 2/5 game going on Friday or Saturday night.

The one near Durango did back when I lived in CO, but it was usually only 1/2. Never checked out the other one.

Still, ain't no one got time for that, unless they're already in the are for some other reason.

According to the Golden Gates Casino website, the Mid States Poker Tour is coming through Apr 5-15. There is a link to download the tournament schedule, but it only downloads a aspx file, not a PDF and I don't want to download Visual Studio to figure out what is going on.

Does anyone have the actual tournament schedule?

Thanks

First post here - just found out about 2+2 while playing 1/3/100 HL in Black Hawk, CO - what a great site! Badbeat at A* in Black Hawk is $630,000+! And the wait is insane. Drove up from Denver and called in an hour before getting there - waited almost two hours once arriving! The bad beat struggle is real!

Lol, last time it was big (over 800k, I think) I got on the list at 8 pm, (25 on the list) checked into my room, gave up and went to bed at 12. When I walked in at 7 am they were calling my name. Played a few hours, had to leave and they hit it that morning, I believe. Yeh, gunna be crazy for a while. Welcome.

I was looking at putting a few hours in at the 30/60 game in Blackhawk Colorado over the next few weekends. Can anyone give any advice and or feedback on the player pool for this game?

I took home 4 racks after playing Tagish in a live game a few months ago.

It's step down in skill from the Los Angeles games I'm used to playing, typical lineup is 1 or 2 winning players the rest fish.

According to the Bravo app, the BBJ is $698k+ and AAAKK or better beat. The requirement will fall to AAAQQ beat at $700k (so probably overnight sometime). Surprisingly, only 12 of the 22 tables are going and there is a reasonable waitlist for all games. I'll probably head up Friday to give it a whirl.

If it hasn't hit by Friday you'll likely be looking at a 2+ hour wait if you go during anything close to prime hours. Wait times got up to 3-4 hours at times back in the fall when the jackpot was sky high. Was about to comment you can call ahead to get your name on the list but checked Bravo and looks like they're suspending call-ins starting Friday until the BBJ hits. Did the same thing last time it got up over 700k.

Table-wise, I think they'll start beefing up staffing starting Friday to get more games going during daytime/afternoon hours. Likely won't see all 22 tables running on a random weekday afternoon, but there will definitely be more than 4-5 tables going.

A dealer that I spoke to last night said they expect it to go over 700k at around 1:30 this afternoon.
