I'm moving to NW Arkansas in a few months and looking around I found the Cherokee West Siloam Springs casino in OK. Anyone ever been here? Do you know what poker games they spread and how is the player pool? Im wondering if it will be worth the 45 min drive to go play there. Thanks.

played there once about 2 yrs ago. they had just started spreading nl (2/5), only other game going was 4-8. probably not an acurate assessment of what they normally spread, now. the room was sectioned off from the rest of the casino w/ a half wall.

Since this thread is old I'll take the liberty of bumping it to re-ask. According to their website they've added quite a few tables and games. Thinking of trying the $30 daily tourney but figure it can't hurt to ask if anyone's played there, what the cash games might be like, relevant info. Would be my first time playing at a casino.

Hey.. I see that you posted this a few months back. Did you ever make it over to the poker room? I may be doing some trips in that area in a few months so I'm scoping out where I'll spend my down time. Any info appreciated.

I gave this room a spin on Friday. Arrived at 7 pm and sat 1/2NL right away. They had three 1/2 NL tables, an oddly loud Omaha game, and 2 other tables finishing up the afternoon tourney. They have 2 tourneys a day.

The tables are currently in the middle of the gaming area, as a new poker room is under construction (and almost finished?). Limited spread until complete.

The location was terrible since there were only ropes separating players from onlooking smokers and wandering slots players, but that all goes away with the updated room.

I sat for about 2 hours and could not have been more card dead. Raked a few small pots but had nothing to work with. Bluffing not much of an option against the players at my table. After the tourney finished, I was moved to another table and the dead cards continued. Both tables I played were filled with regs and they were very familiar with each others style.

Toward midnight, I flopped a set of 4s and moved in for what was left of my chips (about 120). Called by 10 high, flush draw and of course, the turn brought the flush.

I'll definitely play here in the future... especially when the poker moves off the main floor. The no-foldem style begs for patience (and a reasonable hand).

I didn't see any impressive plays. I saw a lot of loose calls by the larger stacks.

Basic buy-in for 1/2. 100 min / 300 max. I didn't ask about other games and since the games are being run on the main floor, they don't have a wait board, games list etc.

Very competent and friendly dealers.. they keep their own tips.

Drinks are cheap. DRINKS ARE NOT FREE, but the drinks were flowing anyway (not sure if that's a house rule or a regulation). Drink service was efficient. They also have food menus and will serve you at the table.

I signed up for a player card, but have no comp info yet. There is a bad beat but no details on that.

Overall impression... A competent 2+2 player should fair well.

This is my "home" casino and I'm returning after a brief spout with marriage and just wanted to make my first post about this place.

I gave this room a spin on Friday. Arrived at 7 pm and sat 1/2NL right away. They had three 1/2 NL tables, an oddly loud Omaha game, and 2 other tables finishing up the afternoon tourney. They have 2 tourneys a day.

The Omaha/8 game is frequented by almost all regulars, they will play anytime a group of them get together. Its got a lot of money on the table, but is very beatable if one has the roll to hang with them. Most of the time its 1/2 NL, with occasionally 2/4 NL. Most days have a "daily" tournament in the AM and then a "special" tourney at night. Here is schedule http://http://www.cherokeestarreward...urnaments.aspx

The tables are currently in the middle of the gaming area, as a new poker room is under construction (and almost finished?). Limited spread until complete.

The poker room would have been done if not for the weather last week. I believe it should be done by Tuesday, but if not the bad weather will push it back again. This place has had MANY different rooms/semi-rooms for poker, but this should be our final resting place, and I believe its going to be just perfect.

The location was terrible since there were only ropes separating players from onlooking smokers and wandering slots players, but that all goes away with the updated room.

This is true right now, but this casino does have an AMAZING filtration system and the smoke (which I HATE) isn't as bad even out on the main floor.

I sat for about 2 hours and could not have been more card dead. Raked a few small pots but had nothing to work with. Bluffing not much of an option against the players at my table. No-foldem is really off and on here. You can get a table of very experienced players and it changes the whole dynamic.

I didn't see any impressive plays. I saw a lot of loose calls by the larger stacks.

NO DOUBT ON LOOSE CALLS BY BIG STACKS!!!! But "plays" can vary and I promise you most of the regulars will throw stone cold bluffs out there if they smell weakness.

Basic buy-in for 1/2. 100 min / 300 max. I didn't ask about other games and since the games are being run on the main floor, they don't have a wait board, games list etc.

Very competent and friendly dealers.. they keep their own tips.

Best dealers between three casinos in West Ok..(Roland, Pocola, and Here) Not even close! ALL of the floor personnel are pretty good as well. Guys like Jackie, Randall, Tim, and Ken are extremely competent AND friendly. Rachel and the girls aren't slouches either.

Drinks are cheap. DRINKS ARE NOT FREE, but the drinks were flowing anyway (not sure if that's a house rule or a regulation). Drink service was efficient. They also have food menus and will serve you at the table.

Drinks FLOW and FLOW and FLOW. I don't drink so its usually to my advantage when people who anywhere else would not be served are. The waitresses are nice (some even nicer on the eyes.)

I signed up for a player card, but have no comp info yet. There is a bad beat but no details on that.

"Comps" by themselves are usually not given to the Poker players. Got to go lose money in the slots for that, BUT if you become a regular and log some hours the floor is very generous with Food Comps if asked (as are they with rake reductions.) Bad Beat is any Quads over Quads for $10,000. (I think its 50/30/20 but I wouldn't quote me on the payout.

Overall impression... A competent 2+2 player should fair well.

A competent player should and does do VERY well, or at least has a fun time losing!

Hope this post was helpful and I always want to see more people come visit what is turning into a VERY NICE poker room. See ya on the felt!!!

Is this Omaha 8 game PLO8 or LO8 or what? I've heard mixed information. Having a lot of money on the table doesn't matter in LO8...

Thanks !!

Have not posted many times so here it goes
The game is omaha 8 fixed limit with 10/20 blinds and a full kill
The game goes on Wed and starts early around noon or so.
All older regs but many are very soft, and there is a lot of action.
Haven't been to the casino in about 6 months but the game has been going for years, and it occasional goes on Saturdays usually starting around the same time.

Bumping thread to see if anyone comes up for air.

I've been playing the saturday AM $20 rebuy. It's more about fun than anything else at that level. Easily win back your $50 in the cash games afterward.

Not much talent on Saturday afternoons playing cash, and they just keep rebuing for 2 or 3 hundred. Small room but very well managed.

I'll keep playing for a while..... Downstream is twice the distance so I've not gone up there yet.

Anyone out there?

I'm here...been on a steady diet of poker for the last two months between Siloam and Roland on the weekends. Ups and downs, but I'm having a blast just playing more than years past.

Hawgflopper...yup that was me. Four overtimes...You bought back in. $4 bet turned into $98 for me...

For anyone who's interested/curious, I played here last week. The casino is quite nice - easy to get to, plenty of parking, decorated with a waterfall and stained-glass windows on the outside, clean and cool on the inside. I did not eat at the restaurants but they had a buffet and a steakhouse. Poker room has 8 tables. 1/2NL is by far the most common game to get spread. When I played there the other 8 people at the table were super friendly.

The only other thing I can think of to say about it is to check Bravo before heading over there, especially during the week because the games aren't always running. In fact I only got to play for about 45 minutes because I got there Wednesday night at about 6pm and most of the players who were playing were only there to play the 7pm tournament.

Nice place though, certainly worth a visit when in the area.
