Just don't stop off at the EZ8 to purchase anything.

Walking anywhere at night is dubious.

I wouldn't walk from M8trix to Bay, or Bay to M8trix. Overpasses, lighting, whatever. It doesn't take long for someone to shove a gun in your grill, demand your stuff, and cut.

Went last night. It's basically the same as GC except the servers and chip runners are wayyyyy slower. One of the things that impressed me most about GC was the attentiveness of chip runners which is not at all present here. Same floor people which I think are pretty decent. Same 100bb NLH games which isn't great. They also increased the drop/rake for the 20 40 O8.

Not all the tables were full so I'm not sure what all the bitching is about -- what did you expect on the first few weekends after the grand opening?

Games spread at 10pm:

50 100 LHE x1
235 NLH x 3-4
123 NLH x 2?
15 30 LHE x 1
6 12 LHE x ?
3 6 LHE x ?
20 40 08 x 1

By 2am the 50 100 broke and there were less 2 3 5 games, not sure about the other games as the poker tables are spread wayyy across the floor.

Took 5 mins to get seated at 2 3 5 and about an hour to get an O8 seat.

I hate the lighting -- the pot lights seem to be pretty harsh.

I don't really like that there is not real poker room, but it doesn't make a huge difference.

I thought they could have invested some money in better chips for a new casino.

Overall, I preferred GC but I may be a bit biased as it was 5 mins from my house and matrix is not. I will likely start heading over to Bay or be going back and forth depending on where the 5 5 10 is going on any given day when I'm not playing the O8.

Thanks for the info, but remember that you went on Monday which Im guessing is the slowest casino day of the week.

Played tonight 5 5 10 and 20 40 O8...about the same as last night. The changing color lights I now find brutal.

I'm just me...do you play the O8 or 5 5 10?

lol...6 ok...but 2 and 4 lol...management really has no idea how to do anything right from the parking to the rake.

I play both games...pm sent.

forgot to mention that I got there at 5pm, no parking issues

got a seat at 5 5 10 right away, my O8 seat was ready in 30 mins and I didn't take it because the 5 5 10 was good...we got short pretty fast and I decided to go back up for O8 and got a seat in 30-45mins

food service really sucked again but I got chips a bit faster than before...I think I will just go buy my own chips at the cage for now

Checked it out today after my session at Bay 101. Self parked immediately at around 7:45pm. The smell is unbearable to me. I don't know what the **** they are thinking. Only stayed about 10 minutes, looked around and said hi to a few people

The poker setup looked normal enough to me and I guess this is where the big nl game relocated. 2/3/5 deepstack is the biggest nl game that runs regularly now at Bay.

The most impressive part for me was the sports bar. Huge gig screens that would create a great atmosphere to watch a game.

Looks like a nice place to me but I'm going to stick to Bay 101, I'll check it out it a few months and see if they did anything about the smell... I really can't get past it.

Went tonight at 1130pm. Had used the text system at 930pm requesting all holdem games and omaha -- it's too laborious to specify which limits I want and they know me there and what I like to play.

I never received a text about a seat and my name was not on any lists when I arrived. They did remember my text and put me on top of the 2 3 5 list.

They had 2-3 235 tables, no LHE bigger than 6 12, a single short 10 25 nl that they put a makeshift rail around (lol). No Omaha as most of the players are out of town for the week. Can't comment on smaller games, I know there were some 1 2 3 games.

No 5 5 10 at either room.

Parking was not as issue.

I called Bay 101 and went there because they had a 2 3 5 deepstack -- I will probably end up at Bay half the time now due to game selection between 2 casinos right next to each other...which is actually kind of nice.

I haven't noticed a smell on the gaming floor. Perhaps it is a periodic spraying of something that I have yet to be present to experience.

I know that the smell in the men's room has been disgusting by restroom standards every time I've gone in there.

I haven't had an issue with parking either. I've also had the same issue with the texting system.

That makeshift rail was laughable. Who do those clowns think they are?? Helmuth and Ivey?? Crystal decanters and wine, food. Hosts.

They want bigger games. It somehow makes them feel like a top Vegas casino.

How about spreading the games your customers want? Instead of targeting these guys that are hit and miss, the higher limit players, who drop the same amount as any other game. They could have 14 tables going every day, but would rather have open tables and short games, just to say they have "bigger games".

I play at Bay more because they have the 2-3-5 deep stack. Its a softer game than the 5-5-10 at M8trix. That game is done at M8trix. I played the 2-3-5 at M8trix last night, its just not the same game.

Bay 101 has softer 2-3-5 games? Whats the buy in rules for the deepstack game at Bay 101?

I played a bit of 5 5 10 at M8trix and it was as soft as 2 3 5 (many of the players I have played with at 2 3 5).

2 3 5 at Bay last night was very soft...I would say softer than the GC 2 3 5 used to be (sample size = 1, my first time playing it there since I used to always play at GC). Haven't gotten to play the deepstack yet at Bay...by the time I got called last night all the soft spots at my table were effectively deepstacked so I didn't move tables.

No. Is this referring to my not being able to smell things? I tend to have a very good sense of smell.

Last night 11pm:

Parking was a bit tight but got a spot right away.

Games:

LHE: 6 12, 9 18, 15 30, 100 200
NLH: 123, 235, 5510
20 40 O8

Had texted in 45mins before arriving (and it worked). Lists were insane: I was 25th on the 235, 8th on the 5510, pretty deep on the 15 30 as well (at least 10th I didn't really look too closely).

Got an omaha seat in 45mins despite being 4th on the list when I arrived (lots of regs are away). Played 3 hours until it broke after playing 5 handed for a while...game was softer than usual with regs being gone.

Called Bay 101 when I saw the lists and they had open seats with 5 235s running and one deepstack with 8 on the list. Was going to head to Bay but omaha opened pretty fast.

Was told by another player that on the weekends if the Cali games get packed that they take out poker games and replace with Cali games due to them having a permit for a fixed # of tables...haven't witnessed this and I am not playing this weekend so I can't confirm or deny first hand.

Upset stomach today which I am going to assume is from the omelette/fruit that I ate there.

Still no obnoxious smells noted, what am I hard of smelling?

Haven't yet been there through the night. I would assume a 123, maybe a 235 and likely a low limit LHE +/- the O8 if it went all night which is not as likely anymore because one of the key players appears to be stepping away from the game after some crushing losses.

I played the 30/60 for 10 hours today...pretty much the same players as bay's 20 and 40. Hopefully they can get the 30 going regularly. They should do 15/30 30/60 and 60/120 to fill in the spots between bay's games imo. They had some bigger nl games and were apparently dropping $8/hand?

The place is a trip. I liked the lighting and music (I know I'm probably the only one) and waitresses. Wasn't too keen on the smell but it wasn't a big deal to me.

The food was pricey but I was happy with my meal.

Also a panhandler tried working our table.

Not enough tables to spread all of those games. But they do love spreading the bigger games, at the expense of the smaller ones. If they cut the Omaha game I can see spreading an extra bigger game.

Its definitely different. I also like the lighting and music. Agree about the food, pricey but some of it is pretty good, others stuff not. You can say that about a lot of places about quality. I don't think all of Bay's food is that great.

Haven't been worked by a pan handler, a touch of GC has made it into the room finally..
