Played 1/2 Saturday night. Never experienced the old poker room. The new location is small but serviceable. Not sure if it's staying as-is or a temporary thing. Maybe someone else knows more?

8 tables total. Seven 1/2's, $250 max BI. One 2/5, $1k max. 1/1 with $14/hr session fee wasn't running. Neither was 1/3, $350 max. Didn't see or hear any talk of tournaments.

I called ahead to get on the list for 2/5, but never got to play in the nearly five hours I was there. (514) 392-2761. Was sat at 1/2 instantly. Left just before 1am. Packed room all night, but my table was not "juicy" or action packed and it looked and felt like the rest of the tables were the same. A lot of short buys everywhere excluding the sole 2/5 table.

I'd like to check it out for sure, but it's hard without a car. I know the casino's rake isn't great, but playgrounds is crazy. Don't really care about free food.

I'm assuming Playground has better games due to their higher rake?

Casino has 8 tables
Playground has 40 tables

So just need to table select a bit and you’ll find a good game.

Honestly management and service at playground is miles above the casino which is government owned so they don’t really have a clue.

As for the rake at 2/5+ the rake is almost the same because pg takes 5% and casino takes 10% but caps lower

I don't think you should read too much into playground having 40 tables. Post in the playground thread said on average 1/2 will get ten tables, 2/5 five tables.

The rake is too high at both places, but Playground is worse (going on what others have said), 1/2 $9 cap with $2 bbj drop = $11 for instance. Even if you manage to trick yourself into thinking free food makes it equal out.

I still want to check out playground and I'll head back to the casino, but I'm willing to bet neither deliver big action. Based on my play this past weekend at the casino and the table change / tight talk going on for playground.

If you wanna play PLO, you have to head to Playground. I've never see PLO go down even on crazy busy weekends at the casino.
