If the PokerPro tables are gone, what's been replaced in that area??

I hear they're gonna put blackjack, poker carribean tables there, which is cool cuz the main area is never really fully used and with the blackjack tables closer people can go play , go on tilt and spew at the tables.

As of last week, nothing, big empty space right now...

when i was there last week it was just an empty area but my friend that was there last night told me yesterday was the first day with around 15 bj and other table games in that area

i think this is actually pretty bad as people are more likely to go spew at table games after going on tilt than staying at poker than vice versa (tilt from table games and then coming to spew at poker like ziggyzaooo said above)

JUst went there yesterday..... nicest poker room by far I've ever been to in Canada.

Went on a Friday afternoon 5pm ish and there was no waitlist whatsoever... no SNGs were running either. There's 1/2, 2/5, 5/5, and some VIP 5/10 deep stack game.

I only had $400 on me so I jumped and played some 1/2.. really really soft game. I suggest whenever you are the aggressor and you don't want 4-5 way flop you have to raise $15+... every time I raised $12 I had 6 people on my flop. Also I kept messing up the Q and the J cards because they were in the french decks.

Overall really good poker room, rake is a crazy $7 and people in Montreal seem to tip way more than the people at fallsview.. probably because dealers keep their own tips here. Also ipods and cell phones are actually allowed at the tables so you don't have to constantly step outside the room just to check the time on your phone like ontario casinos..

Unless the rule changed in the last month, they're not. But no one cares if you look at your phone while not involved in a hand. iPods are fine as long as you don't keep it on the table.

Yeah, electronics aren't allowed ON the table but if you're not in a hand and you get a text or an email, you're allowed to take out your phone and hit a few buttons to tell it to shut up.

hey guys... I have problems playing medium pairs in the 1/2 cash games there. So pairs like 77, 88, 99, TT. People in those games tend to just call with any two all the time. So like after my raise - usually to like $10 to $14 preflop (which seems to be the standard in those games - unlike the standard 3XBB you see online) I will usually be guaranteed usually more than 2 callers. I have no idea how to play well after the flop. Usually the are overcards and even if there arn't any overs and its a 247 flop people will just call half pot bets with overcards in position. Also if the flop does have overcards, how often should i c-bet? should i try to just "plow" through it by double barreling? I really feel that I am losing too much with these hands and need a few tips.

thanks

Anyone know how the competition at small stakes compares to the room in Gatineau? Is it worth the trip from Ottawa?

masaraksh : you could just limp in with those hands and try to flop a set.

I played last night. Pulled a sweet 500x BB river shove with bottom pair, guy tank folds A5 top pair no kicker. Games are juicy, possibly if only because of my presence.

well the problem i have is that if i keep limping with all these 'vulnerable' hands and only raise monsters people will kinda catch on. Plus, limping with these hands seems kinda weak-tight.... I mean, I can play these pairs aggresively in raised pots heads up or 3 way... but when you get 3 or more callers, should i just give up on the hand if there are overcards and 4 or more people in the pot?

This is directed to the regs who play at the Casino; in your opinion, what are the fishiest hours to play there? Most action/donks spewing money around, etc.

I like to drop there during weekdays (9 to 5 ) when not working, the "regs" are so bad (be careful with that m/f couple that like to teamplay, apart from them easy $$). From 9 am - noon you catch the people that played all night and cannot even see their cards.

Weekends from 7 pm to midnight the electronic tables are much more profitable since you get more hands x hour. But once the donks from the clubs start coming in move to the dealer tables imo.

There's a couple places on Parc near the intersection of Parc and Sherbrooke. It's in the McGill Ghetto so you're close to reasonably priced food and bars and it's like a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station.

What, you never played poker before? Pro Tip: out of the Q and the J, one is a lady, one isn't.

If you can't figure it out, it must suck for you picking someone up at a bar and finding out they have the old bait & tackle, only too late.

Going there the weekend of the 23rd for Business. Hope to play Fri night and Saturday. Any advice on where to go for food, etc? How do I get to the Casino? I am right downtown staying near Blvd Rene Levesque. Haven't been to Montreal since I was a kid for our school trip!
