Theres always a couple 1/2 no limit games with very tight nitty players. Normally 1 or 2 2-4 NL tables with better players and most days, 1 3-6 NL table with alot of regulars but some value if 1 or 2 of the known bad players play.

Also one table of 5-5 or 5-10 PLO is played most days which normally is decent.

Hi,

as I understood from previous posts Casino Barcelona is basicly the only place to play live poker in Barcelona. Are the 5/10, 10/20 games running daily? What about PLO 5/10 an higher? Thinking of going to Spain at the beginning of October for 3 weeks and looking for best live cash game destination.

I've not booked a room yet. Any interest on chopping an apartment or room?

Maybe the casino has them posted, and then you could use the search function here. The last I saw it was 5% to 10e below 5/10 (in between could be in between, as it usually is) where it was 2.5% to 25e or so (usually casinos have 5% but there are some that have 2 to 3% and likely a higher or no cap then). Plus entrance fee. Non EU members need a passport or you won't get in.

There might be 1/2 or 1/3 games as the lowest, maybe for plo also, but the plo might be (if running) 1/3 DC (nlh and plo, probably as so mostly plo), and then the next up plo maybe 5/10 (or like 5/5?). Nlh having limits in between, that is also pretty common in the EU (if any plo running).

The rakes in the EU are like 2.5% to 5% and the caps from 10 (1/2) up to a couple of big blinds (maybe more in between), depending on level and rake percentage and country/place. So, not much of a surprise overall, but it can hit bad at some level, it being too high or not there at all. The lower percentage might be better for nlh, and the lower cap for plo (though okay with a 2.5% rake also).

Do you think playing 1/1 or 1/2 live with a 5% rake makes it unbeatable?

I'm trying to get into live Poker and live in Barcelona, it's the only place to play in the entire city and I'm not rolled right now for higher than 1/2 (only just rolled for that).

Hi, looking to move to Barcelona for a few months this summer. Played the PSC last year there, and the main memory was not as much grinding 5/5 as intended, but on the beach, grinding cocktails as I waited 8 hours to get through the 400 person waitlist.

Don't intend on going during PSC this year for that reason. What is the state of the cash games outside of festival times? 2/5 or 5/10 (NLH) every night? Much action/ decent regs in those games? How late do the games run? Did they go back to the lower 10e rake cap after the PSC for 2/5?

I heard there is an entry fee outside festival times? Is this still a thing? If so, do you have to pay it every single night, or just a one-off payment.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Can anyone offer advice about the best way to secure Euros in Barcelona, either by changing USD$ or out of an ATM? I have a BofA debit card, which means I can get $ out of a Deutsche Bank ATM without paying an ATM fee, but in the past few years the "Global ATM Alliance" has started charging 3% foreign exchange fee, and I'd like to reduce the vig a bit lower than that.

Open TD Bank checking account. Their debit card does not charge any conversion fees. Limit is 1000 CAD equivalent (they are a Canadian bank, strange limit I know). Withdraw with their debit card from a euro ATM, do not accept the USD conversion that the ATM offers. Visa/Mastercard charge 1% conversion fee, that cannot be avoided.

So hypothetically, the max would be 600 euro per day with 1% fee + 2 euro ATM fee + $3 TD bank atm fee. That is the cheapest way to ACQUIRE euro.

If you win a large tournament, good luck converting back to USD without paying 5%.

If you have a Santander Bank near you in the States, you can open an account, deposit the funds, and withdraw in Spain. That is one of their biggest banks there
