I want tell something about the Barcelona Casino in Ciutadella olimpica.
First be careful everybody because one time, one of a dealer of the Casino didnt want me back money because i paid 40 Euros for a Sit n Go at 25 Euros, and the Dealer back to me only 5 Euros and i said to him he missed to gave me the other 10 Euros but he insisted and said to me i had the all the money.
At the end during 20 minutes during the table started to play, the dealer didnt want to give my money, he called a security and then a manager, and all of them believed me or they didnt want believe me, Be Careful to your money.
The others time i had played at the automatic table means you put money in a special box and you play its electronic.
Second one at this time, i would like to enter in the casino today 31 MAY 2013 and the woman and the security dont want that i enter to play in the Casino because they said i insulted a man who work inside but they invented the story, so i needed send a request to special customers service of Spain be careful in this Casino, they are not sympatic
Trip Report Barcelona March 2014:
Stayed at Hotel Ibis Plaza Glories 22. Peaceful. Slept well. If you go in March the aircons don't work yet (Winter), so if it is hot open your window.
The underground train is very efficient. So, you can stay far away from casino if you like. So, step 1 for hotel booking: See what is the closest underground station. You can buy a discounted ticket for 10 trips. Nice modern architecture in Barcelona.
At Casino Barcelona 22h00 Tuesday. Tournament going (every day). There is only two tables each for 1/2 and 2/4 with a waiting list of more than 8 for each. After 20 min my name jumped to second place on 1/2 but remained in 10th place on 2/4. There is a metro station close by: Ciutadella Vila Olympica. Metros run Sun to Thurs until 00h00, Fri until 02h00. Sat 24 hours. The nearest metro to me is Llacuna (for hotel Ibis Glories). The dealers post yr blinds if you are not at the table which is not so nice.
Free wifi at hotel which is fast enough. Cannot play pokerstars.com only Spanish version.
Wednesday: Arrived at 20h00 and had a seat immediately.
Again the 2/4 waiting list at 21h30 is longer than 1/2.
The 5/10 PLO active every night.
Holdem 2/4 is the biggest demand.
Friday:
17h30 there is one table 1/2 and two 2/4 with a waiting list of 8 players each and one 3/6.
Tournies starts every day at 20h00.
At 19h45 3 tables 2/4 and only two 1/2, but long waiting list for 1/2.
Holdem 2/4 also loose and multiway, but tight postflop.
Sat: 18h00
One 1/2 going with 5 on waiting list.
Two 2/4 going.
Top of 1/2 list after an hour.
At 21h40 on Sat night still only one table 1/2. Long waiting list now. 2/4 has two tables plus a long waiting list. Limited amount of tables open.
Sunday:
Here at 19h, one 1/2 and two 2/4 going.
Tuesday. 20h00. 1/2 is one table and waiting list of 30. 2/4 is two tables and waiting list of 20. 2/4 PLO has no interest.
5/10 PLO has two tables of 5 and 6 players each.
Wednesday:
At 17h30 second on list for two tables 1/2. Again 2/4 has two tables but a list of 11.
Took 30 min to get a seat.
PLO 2/4 never takes place, they have even cleared the list.
Thursday:
At 17h45 two tables 1/2 and two tables 2/4 with a waiting list of 8 on each.
At 18h30 they open a third 2/4 table.
Friday: There at 16h45. Three tables going. 1/2, 2/4 and PLO 5/10. Waiting lists 11 people.
At 18h00 two 2/4 with waiting list of 15.
One 1/2 with list of 9. One 3/6.
My 1/2 started at 18h30.
Saturday:
Here at 16h30. One table of 1/2 and one of 2/4. Waiting list of 3 each.
Seat at 18h00.
Holdem 5/10 also runs.
2/4 was the most popular and had the most tables allocated.
There was one 5/10 Holdem running, what time it starts and which days I cannot remember. The table, when running, was always full.
Should I bring American dollars to the casino, or should I bring Euros? In London, for example, it was beneficial to bring dollars, because they would sell you back your money at the same exchange rate that they sold chips to you, negating half the exchange vig.
What time should I show up on Thursday, Friday, Saturday to best optimize my chances of getting a seat?

US$ is still the reserve currency (most popular, 60% of global currency held, euros are second at 25%, this means cheaper spreads and less volatility) of the world. Of course if you can take euros it is best (no unknowns then) depends if you can buy at a good rate from your bank.
The underground (metro) is very efficient. Look at google map of Barcelona and see where the underground runs (basically everywhere) and then see where you can stay. Metro sign on google maps is a red diamond with a white M.
