How has the 40 mix action been during the mspt?
It runs pretty much everyday regardless. During MSPT or the fall classic you are more likely to get a must move as well or it may get bumped to 50/100. As far as the quality of play, seems like the usual cast of characters but YMMV. The game isn't going to get significantly better or worse during MSPT if that is what you are asking.

How does the level of play compare to west coast mix games?
Obviously it totally depends on the game, but from what I understand it is a good game but not as good as a typical game in LA.

Does action get especially good during certain times of the year?
I mean not really. It is always pretty good and there aren't any "peak action" times that I can really think of.

Thanks.

40 game has lots of action and is usually roughly half experts, half fish.
Some days there are 8 experts, 0 fish.

I will take you fishing if you make it out. Just show up with a fishing license and if you plan to drink more than a few beers, bring some.

Can someone explain the 2-100 spread betting?

Blinds are $1/$2 and you can bet or raise anything from $2 to $100.

$100 is the max bet legally allowed in MN, so true NL cash games are illegal. This is one version that gets pretty close to mirroring 1/2NL.

And the usual rules about a raise doubling the prior bet or whatever. So like if someone opens to 12 then you can't make it 15 or something.

Looking forward to taking you up on this offer next year! Will be more than happy to bring beer.

Will be making the 6 hour drive up there next Friday for the weekend to check it out for the first time. Any chance they will be showing the Conner/Floyd fight in the poker room?

Is there much adjustment then from No limit? Could you give a few hand history examples. Please.

If it is helpful I am willing to spar with one of the floor people provided I get a full 25% of the PPV.

Chopper I don't know why you spend all this money on a photo shoot with two tools who clearly have never played poker when you could just use a picture of me wheeling a 14 rack mountain of chips to the cage on a food trolley.

Best. Advertising. Ever.

Have done that twice, once with blue, once with yellow. It is a glorious feeling needing a car to get to the cage (I generally refuse to color up). We will just ignore the times there was no trip to the cage at all

In town tomorrow night, yellow chips running after 8PM on Sundays still? Been forever since I played on a Sunday night.

I would assume there will be 2-3 yellow chip games not counting 2-100

Salivating already. Limit sucks in the east coast. Stuck playing split pot OE or driving 1.5 hours to play 4/8.

No fight delays tomorrow Delta

For those coming in town for the SB.

Looks like the 2-100 spread game as spread like the plague.

Sunday night
3-6
3-6 full kill (2 tables)
8/16 1/2 kill (2 tables)
20/40
2/100 spread (3 tables).

Expect with some more traffic a 40/80 min will go during the week.

Still the best run room. Best chips. Good cards. Pretty decent food.

5 tables of 2-100 per the Bravo app as of 8:31pm CST tonight. 73/116 left in the Wednesday night $235 tourney at first break.

Expecting the action to be very good on Friday night.

Also, the regular Sunday night tourney will not go this weekend per their promo flyer.

Is this schedule of events available yet for the MN State Poker Championships next month? Fingers crossed for having a 6-max tournament again on Thursday night!

Thinking about playing in the upcoming MSPT. I'm a winning player in the 2-100 game and would say I'm around the 80th percentile in this game (20% of players are better than me). How would I stack up in the MSPT? Should I expect to be roughly neutral EV with a lot of weaker players coming in through the satellites?

IME tournament poker in MN is ludicrously soft. Ive seen players i know are considered good by other players just do the fishiest stuff. Really bad poker players that know even less about game theory

If you know to not call with like 13 BBs left you are likely +ev

The competition in a $1K in Minnesota >>>>> skill level in a WSOP $1K or $1.5K. Not even close. The high level of tournament play here is awesome and challenging yet frustrating! I wish the fields were soft.

What are some of the bigger horse races in August or September? Looked at their website but they all look the same to me. Dont know much about them but went up to play cards a year or 2 ago that time of year and ended up betting and watching some races and had a ball. Thanks.
