In case anyone is a tad confused as I was Wednesday night, the big lot right in front of the casino entrance actually had it's gates down with a $25 parking fee advertised. But I heard the night before from a player that when you tell the parking attendant you're there for the casino, they just wave you in, which is precisely what happened to me Wednesday night. Tuesday night, the gates were simply open. I think it depends on what's happening at the other major venues nearby.

I haven't played in years but does the EX still allow outside food and beverages if you go down and play?

Also at the spread limit is it no flop, no drop? Has the rake structure changed? Thanks.

I don't think they've ever allowed outside beverages. I think they continue to allow outside food.

I played 7+ hours of Oklahoma and never saw a hand without a flop.

Yes, it's coming back to me but the security guards examine the bottles to see if they are opened and if they are closed they will allow them, but if you have opened them you have to consume them outside or dump it before entering.

As for the playing I was talking about a guy going max preflop on X limpers and everybody folding, thanks.

I played 20/40 Omaha with a half kill earlier this week. Wild Wild game. We had a few pots capped 6 ways preflop. Sat next to a few cannons and let me tell you this game has an insane amount of swings.

Great Blue Heron is reopening their poker room soon. They will have both NL and their old 20/40 Omaha Hi game.

I wonder if the 3+ hour wait times will return.

And because of the cannons, it's really a 30/60 game.

Ive never had a three hour wait and I played 1000s of hours there. You just gotta time when you go in. Get there between 3-5 and youre fine.

GBH had a 90 minute call in policy. I would call when I reached Scarborough, and by the time I checked in I would only have to wait an additional hour or so. Lol

These posts on GBH would probably be more useful in the Toronto thread.

Tonight is the last night. (There's a short day tomorrow.) I went Friday to get back into the 20-40 half-kill Omaha and the action was quiet at first (mostly conservative players + one TAG and one station), but it got crazy around 11 p.m.

A couple of more aggressive action players had already joined us when a real cannon arrived. The CNE now permits live straddles (they haven't in the past), and his favourite move was straddling when the kill was on and raising again when it got back to him. That tended to mean that you could be on the button with a premium hand and have to pay as much as $150 to see a flop! The variance was insane.

Sniff Sniff.it is a sad day for Toronto poker.

Goodbye CNE poker room. See you in 2020. Now I got to drive an hour+ and often have long waiting times just to play legal poker.

Was fun while it lasted, since Aug 20 I won nearly 2K playing 1-2 spread limit. Probably It could have been more but I played on my birthday and got hammered and started to donk off chips. And I played today (after telling my self not to go) and lost a few hundred. Could have been 2500 easily in less than 2 weeks in about 60 hours of play.

I still cant get over this guy who called my 100 dollar cap bet on the river on a board of A-Q-7-7 -2, with pocket 6's. What could he hope to beat? I had pocket 7's.

With CNE scheduled to return this summer, does anyone recall what the biggest limit is? I seem to recall a big game being played, perhaps $100-$200 combo of limit holdem and limit omaha high. Does that ring a bell to anyone? Or was it 50-100? I think it ran daily...

I recall it running both 100-200 and 50-100 limit. Texas only and not omaha. I think omaha has always just been the standard 20-40 with half kill to 30-60.
The 50-100 and 100-200 did not run daily. It ran very infrequently actually. The player pool is very small at this limit. It ran maybe 2 or 3 times but I could be wrong since it's been quite a while since we've had CNE poker.

CNE Casino opens this Wednesday.

Anyone found any info online. The only thing the official page says is a 150k gtd tournament, without much more info.

All I heard about it is that the rake is going up a lot and that it's a sliding scale that really punishes small pots. I am not saying this is reliable or anything.

Any update on the rake situation would be greatly appreciated if anyone pays CNE an early season visit.

There's a PDF on their site that suggests they're running daily SNGs that get your into another tourney to qualify for the 150K gtd event.

Ok i went tonight (opening night)

Rake is now 10% up to $12. This applies for both the 1-2 No limit (spread) and 2-5 NL game. Not sure about limit.

Wait for 1-2 was a pain in the ass I am hoping this is just due to opening night disorganization. 2 hour wait I got there at 8pm. 2-5 had no waitlist.

Rules are the same, 100 max bet per street.

No. None of the players and maybe just a few of the dealers as far as I could see. Some of the security did. But I'd say overall 90% of the crowd had no masks.

Has anyone played CNE's new +1 game. Where one can purchase an extra community card before the flop for the price of the big blind.
